Need to wait and see.
He certainly appears to be just what our offense needs, so if he lives up to his potential it was definitely worth it.

I think it was definitely worth it. I really thought the Jets were going to take him. I kind of hope we may trade back in the second round depending on who is there and pick up another 4th or a third.

From CSP's mouth:
quote:
How much did you weigh giving up a third round pick?
“We weighed it some, but when you’re picking 27th in each of these rounds, you’re really five picks away from being in the fourth. We really felt, with regards to the value sheets, that it all added up and made sense.”

that is a great point that is overlooked. drives home the point even more that it was worth it. I've been saying I would rather forfeit a 4th than 3rd, but picking at the end of the 3rd round means it's pretty much a 4th anyway.

We gave up two picks, but we got two players.
A Receiver and a returner.

Definitely think it was worth it, as the organization views him as an elite playmaker for an offense seemingly devoid of them against elite competition.
This gives us Colston and Stills as proven WRs and hopefully now a dynamic rookie to open up the offense. Provided the value is there as we move forward in the draft, scooping up a big-bodied WR to complement the current corps may also be a good move. Obviously, this depends on addressing other needs at CB, C and OLB/DE.

Wrong. We traded 1st round picks and only gave up the one in the 3rd.

Your opinion of yourself makes me laugh.

He's not much of a returner at least in college. Makes me think they will be leaning to cadet for those roles.

Saw this on a tweet:
quote:
TE Jimmy Graham 4.53
WR Marques Colston 4.50 (9 years ago)
WR Kenny Stills 4.32
WR Brandin Cooks 4.33
WR Joe Morgan 4.40

Cadet hasn't impressed me as a returner.

Yes and simply because of what kind of player he is.
He's a chess piece type of WR. There is no other receiver outside of OBJ, Cooks, and Lee that look to be that way. Add in the fact, he has produced in college and has the combine stats to back it up, hard to pass up.
ETA: And look at what is left at 27. We would have been in the 'worst case scenario' that many of us talked about.
