I'm looking at getting a new set of clubs. I'm a casual player and just want to get an upgrade over the set of clubs I bought used a few years ago. I'm 6'3" and was wondering if I am ok with getting standard length clubs or if I should go get sized. If I should get sized, where can I go in the BR area.

Thanks

Just get 13 drivers and you'll be fine.

Did you tend to slice with the standard length clubs?

Im a little taller, and can't really play with standard length clubs. Not sure whats out there now, but a few years back Ping had different color coded club sets for different heights.

You'll probably be + 1 inch maybe a half. You really need to get your lie angle checked. Your most likely going to be upright. People way underestimate the importance of lie angle

Really depends on your swing but at 6'3" you're likely going to need 1-1.25" longer than standard in your irons at minimum.

I'm 6'3" and didn't need any extra length. It all depends on your stance.

Standard.... people that think they need custom length are stupid.

Different lie angles I'll buy.

Don't focus on height alone. Your wrist to floor measurement is more important. I would imagine you would be about .5 inches long, but it's all about what feels comfortable to you. You don't want the club to force you into an incorrect stance. Also note that the effective lie angle of the club will change with any amount of added length. In short, get someone who knows what their doing to fit you correctly.

I'm 6'3" and every one of my clubs is custom fit to me.

Although when I need an adjustment I just hop in the Mizuno 18 wheeler that follows us to all our tournaments and get my stuff adjusted for free....

If I'm home I call my rep and he sends me whatever I need....

I can size you right now.

Add .75 inches to your clubs.

Son is 6'5" and a good golfer. Even he uses standard. In baseball there is a saying about being athletic, it means making yourself smaller, normal size.

Go to Ping's website and do a custom fitting online. I'm not advocating buying clubs based off of the results, but at least it will give you an idea that you should most likely be fitted properly.

At 6'3"

You will be better off with club extenders. Will save your back a world of hurt. There is a guy named mytigger on here that can hook you up.

If your serious and do not want to waist your money, get fitted! The key is getting a set of clubs that fit your swing, not trying to fit your swing to a new set. I am 5'11 220lbs, swing TaylorMade MC/MB combos with +1 KBS C-taper x-stiff shafts with standard lofts and bent 1.5* upright with midsize grips (Dri-tacs, and if you haven't felt them you should). Those type of measurements are considered the "norm" for golfers in the 6'2" range. It's all about making the clubs work for you, not changing your mechanics to make the clubs work!
