Being from SWLA I have a hard time believing or imagining that Contraband Days doesn't win this hands down.

Gumbo Fest in Bridge City.

I went a few years ago and my GF and I were the only people there with a full set of teeth.

Moved to LA in early 80's and made an effort to attend many festivals around the state. I have never returned to the strawberry festival (went to the one where the lady drove into the crowd), shrimp/petroleum (who ever thought that was a good name for a festival?), and BB crawfish festival (most drunk teenagers I have ever seen at one time). In contrast, I do not miss a Jazzfest or International Fest...they do it right.

I don't if Tarpon Rodeo counts, but it says something when the bars bring in strippers/hookers from New Orleans and they start doing the unthinkable with marlin bait at the marinas.

I've been once and it was the trashiest thing I've ever been to.

Starks Mayhaw festival is 500 people listening to gospel music and buying jelly, not sure where that rates on the trashy scale.
