Great news. Love to see more IT coming to LA. This sounds right up my alley.

You just described 95% of ATL's entire posting history. And I'm likely being generous here.

This is very good news. The more tech companies we can get here the more we become known as a tech town. Get a bunch of small fish and bigger ones will follow. I just hope we can get the state to truly commit to fully funding technology departments at LSU and UNO.

What a day.
announcement of 2 new flights to New Orleans (Spirit Airlines) and 320 jobs moving to Kennerbra.
New Orleans is booming.

I'm very happy for NOLA and the state in general...
It seems odd to me that the company I work for appears to be doing everything they can to move (at least infrastructure) IT out of LA in the name of disaster preparedness. And these guys say frick hurricane "safe" ATL and move to Katrina town.

It is somewhat ironic having a conservative state trumpet its new IT outsourcing business.

LA strong, ATL to toilet
why proclaim your butthurt so loudly though?

They don't even move here until July, but the Saints and Pelicans should already start shaking them down for sponsorships.

When I saw IT & average salary of 50k, I went & looked at what they did, because a beginning programmer makes more than that.
(I'm in the software industry)

starting programmer in LA makes more than that? I think that's about average for LA. It's been a while since I've looked at starting salaries.
According to this site, Atlanta average is $86,000 while NO is $61,000, so I don't think $50k would be that far off

I thought Presonus has always been a Baton Rouge or Louisiana company. They are building a new building on Highland.

No more jobs please, the cost of housing is already fricking absurd.
