Last night of my bachelor party I took all the cash I had left on me ~$800 and sat down at the black jack table at around 2 a.m. The next morning people were calling around looking for me. I had sat at the table all night and needless to say, I was quite intoxicated. I hadn't been paying attention and won $1000 . In my drunken state, I was making much bigger bets than I normally would. Goes to show that you can't have any reservations. You gotta put down money to win money.

I watched my drunk friend lose a $300 hand by accidentally hitting on a 19. The dealer didn't hesitate or say anything just layed down the card that wasn't a 2. I tried to reason with the her but she wouldn't budge. We both eventually were thrown out. Good times at Hollywood.

Vegas for a bachelor party.

None of my buddies or I are OT ballers or anything, and we were literally playing craps on a laptop on our flight down to learn how to play, but dammit, it was Vegas and we were going to throw some money on the table.

Turned $40 into $200 the first night. Second night turned $40 into about $250.

Sunday afternoon I had to fly home, so we decided to stop and play the $5 table at Circus Circus. This was Labor Day weekend the day after LSU played a depleted North Carolina team that required a miracle to pull off the W. I had a Saints visor on, and a buddy of mine had his LSU polo on. Put $40 on the table, started slow. Had a group of guys across from us that started giving us shite about the Saints and how shitty LSU looked.

And then the bachelor got the dice... An hour and 15 mins later, he relinquished the dice. He started throwing 8,6,8,6,8,9,6,point,8,9,6,8,8,etc. A crowd started forming. One of the guys in our group hit $300 on a snakeyes bet. We had the guys across the table yelling "Who Dat!" The table would cheer everytime we rolled. We made a bunch of money for that table.

They ended up raising the min to $20 before we finally left. The crowd reached the street. There was a round of applause and high fives all around. I turned $40 into $450. I don't know how much the bachelor ended up making, but he was throwing money down pretty good.

By far the coolest gambling moment for me ever. It wasn't a ton of money, but I made enough over the course of 3 days that I paid for all the drinks I bought, dinner at the steakhouse in New York, New York, dinner at Bobby Flays Mesa Grill, and dinner at Texas de Brazil without using my card and still had cash left over.

I was at lunch with Jack Binion, and two other people, at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas in 1995, when the telephone at Jack's table rang. The caller was Steve Wynn. He had a guest at the Mirage who wanted to bet $1 million on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl the day they signed Deion Sanders as a free agent. The Mirage wouldn't take the bet because losing might cause them to miss their earnings estimates for the quarter. Steve wanted to know if the Horseshoe was willing to take the bet. Without hesitation Jack told him that he would take the bet at the odds offered by the sports book at the opening of the day which were 5/2. The odds dropped during the day to 2/1 after the Sanders signing was announced.

Several months later the Cowboys won the Super Bowl, and the Horseshoe had to pay the guy over $2 million. I asked Jack about it after the Super Bowl, and he told me the guy placed several more high dollar bets at the Horseshoe after making the Super Bowl bet, and he lost about $3.5 million before the Super Bowl bet paid off. Jack also said the guy had referred a few other big bettors, and from then on he would tell everyone about the time he won a $1 million bet at the Horseshoe. Advertising like that is invaluable in the casino industry.

Put my last $20 on a 50-1 longshot and he came in. I met the owner a few years later and he said they were just in it for the exercise day, and didn't bet on him themselves. The horse just decided to run a big race.

2 examples of bad losses (those are much more memorable):

I was in Vegas and bet on a random NBA game. I had Denver Nuggets ML or -1 or something. Nuggets were inbounding the ball up 3 with 1 second left and this happened:

LINK

2006 or 2007 I had LSU bball -14.5 against Auburn at PMAC. LSU struggled all game but went on a huge run to lead by 15 or 16 for the last minutes of the game. Auburn, down 16, gets a rebound with about 5 seconds left. Meanwhile Big Baby and other LSU players are walking off the court untucking their jerseys. Auburn gets an uncontested layup at the buzzer to cover.

1 good story from this past football season. I hit about a $2200 parlay with LSU +3.5 against UGA. When LSU got up 14-7 in the 1st half I put $500 on UGA +145 ML in Live Betting. I hit both bets. I was disappointed LSU lost, but the bets cheered me up.

Is poker considered gambling? I used to earn 2-3k month playing 5 card draw on pokerstars before the us govt stopped me.

Best casino winning story was years ago when I was 19 or so. Was in MS playing craps brought $300 to table. Table was the best craps run I've ever seen - a run they use on TV shows. Turned 300 into over 2k in about 45 minutes. Went out later that night with the dealers and pit bosses.

Mine isn't a great story. Was playing a house game. The game was a match the pot game. One hand I stayed and lost 240. That was a crap load of money while I was in college. The next couple of hand the pot got up to over 900. I stayed again and won and ended up clearing a little over 700. Never played in a game where the money ever got close that kind of money. Freaking heart was pounding and probably peed my pants a little.

Not having $6 more bucks in my pocket cost me $10,000 at the end of long day at the track during my college years.

Still pisses me off.

My best gambling story involves a fortune cookie that actually helped me once, it was a few years ago while Favre was with Minnesota playing against Dallas in the playoffs. I was set to bet on Dallas to win, but right before I placed a mobile sports bet on the game I opened my fortune cookie at a sushi bar and looked at my fortune. It read: "The color purple will bring you luck." I immediately changed my mind and put $50 on Minnesota instead, sure enough they won.

Church fair late 60's . I observed a classmate leaning on the rail watching as us kids rode the scrambler over and over. I knew his family was poor and he prob had no money to buy tickets. I gave him and my last 4 tickets and watched him grab his little sister and run to get in line. I made my way to cafeteria for bingo. Bought one card for a quarter and proceeded to win a $45 pot. I feel to this day I was rewarding by The Lord for showing compassion for others....... Somehow I grew up a conservative and haven't shown compassion since

Group of guys in my neighborhood had a hold'em night. I'd never played, only watched it on TV. Just knew the basic rules of poker. First game was $100 buy in, winner take all.

Got down to "a chip and a chance" many times, but ultimately it got down to me and one other dude. He had 3 of a kind, and thought he'd one. I had to point out to him twice that I had a straight. Walked in with $200, left that table with my same $200 plus $1,000, then, played a few other smaller games/lost another hundred or so.

Felt good walking back home with that stack of cash though.

Went to Harrah's, blew all of my money on Blackjack. Friend of mine's gf was playing 3-Card Poker and hit a straight flush, won like $5k. They threw me a purple and I hit a straight flush the very next hand.

Another time at Hard Rock in Biloxi, I went to sleep around 2AM after losing a few hundred. Woke up around 10AM and after realizing my other two friends handn't returned to the room and went looking for them; they handn't slept and one of my friends was up about $14k.

I've also seen a friend's dad lose ~$100,000.

I normally do pretty well at the Craps table. It's not out of the ordinary for me to lose a good bit on Blackjack and make it all back, plus some, throwing the dice. I've also hit the bad beat jackpot in the poker room at Harrah's.

In Vegas and decided to check out the Hooters Casino with a couple of friends. By the time we walked there my friends had to piss so I put $20 in a $1.00 slot machine and hit the max spin button. I was just trying to be discreet checking out the scenery (which as it turns out is really poor) and the damn machine is making all kinds of racket. I look down and I hit a jackpot for 5000. My buddies come back and the machine is still rattling off credits and we are fired up. I then look down and realize it is a machine that can play .05/.25/$1.00 and sure enough the damn thing was set at $0.05. Thus, I hit a jackpot and walked away pissed off!

On a golf trip where we stayed at The Beau Rivage, I sat down with a buddy at the blackjack table and saw him pull out $700 and he cashed out six hours later for $61,000. They comped 12 rounds of golf at Fallen Oak and all the drinks and cigars we wanted at the course.

Went to Vegas with $4k and bet every penny on LSU over Virginia Tech within 4 hours of landing. They had to give me a bag to carry my cash out.

Hit a $4000 jackpot the day after my 21st birthday. My dad took me and I put $5 in a slot machine waiting for him to come back from the bathroom. He saw security and thought I was in trouble.

Used to play relatively high stakes blackjack (for a kid in college) at the Belle after bar shifts downtown and made way more money there than I ever made bartending. Did that for 4 years and when I graduated I had enough money for a down payment on a ballin arse house.

Sat at a blackjack table in Vegas with the CEO of Mitsubishi, Phil Mickelson and his wife, and Steven Speilberg. Believe it or not I was the least famous person at the table

Got a few. Snow skiing trip at Lake Tahoe. First night there, hit 2000 at a poker machine, royal flush betting 75 cents I believe.
Duck hunting se of Lake Chuck, ramble over to the (now gone) Harrahs, and end up winning 1300 in two trips over the weekend on craps.
Marksville for the birthday Sundays they used to and may still have, and while I'm waiting on my wife to get her perks, no more than 15 minutes, I hit a slot for 1200.
And lastly we are up at the Shoe in Bossier City, and I was learning the ropes at a busy crap table. Just betting the pass line, the dice come my way and I roll some hard eights and this dude on the end of the table started placing bets for me and I rake in 200 for the rolls. Guy next to says I just won him over 2500.
