So I was using Untapped and saw that there is a brewery off Gardere called Running Monk. I tried to look it up but they don't have a website. I had never heard of it nor seen their beers in stores. What's the deal with this place?

I looked at their beers at it looks like they potentially have some good brews. I'd be interested in doing a tour soon and test it out.

If you've been, what's the place look like? If you've had their beer, what's your favorite?

Homebrewer. Good beers. I drink them now and again.

It's just a guy that brews beer at his house.... Unless you know him I doubt you can set up a tasting of his beers.

When I saw it was on Springwhatever I wondered why I hadn't seen it or heard of it. How do you go about getting beers? Just show up?

Does he sell them to places like Bet-R and Trader Joe's?

He's a frequent poster here..... He's just a home brewer. He doesn't sell anything. Unless you go to zapps or wyes you probably won't be able to taste his stuff

He probably wouldn't appreciate a stranger showing up at his house asking for beer

Homebrewers often share their beer. It's part of the fun of making it

i don't think it would be wise to just show up.

wait for a local beer tasting event. WYES in NOLA does a big home-brew area. that will be your best chance to taste his beers, along with many other great home-brews.

Untappd has a Homebrewers badge. The encourage homebrewers to list their beer.

He might be OK with it, but I doubt T would like it.

Post in the thread. Don't be a dick. When (if) you get an invite to IRL, do so with ample beer in tow. You'll wind up in the group in no time.

I really can't stress the "don't be a dick" part enough.

But really. Don't be a dick.
