I don't believe this makes you an alcoholic. Sometimes you have the house to yourself and you just want to sit on the couch and have a couple several) glasses of booze by yourself and relax. Ain't nothing wrong with that as long as it's not every night.

An alcoholic is someone who is chemically dependent on alcohol or someone who's well-being is impacted by their habit.

Someone who must get blasted is an alcohol abuser.

Someone who gets drunk on their own is hard to judge because there are plenty of reasons and I've done it a couple of times. Someone whose getting drunk because their a depressed wreck is very bad. But if you're pregaming something and your planning on being with friends, I don't have a problem with it.

Someone with a DUI is just that, someone who gets a DUI.

If you skip work or other commitments to drink. If you would rather drink than see your kids/family or do anything else.

This doesn't make you an alcoholic, just a really stupid person.

Someone who drinks alcohol every day to the point in which their body becomes reliant on it.

But there are binge alcoholics and a ton of different terms, which make sense, but that is my definition.

You're an alcoholic when you can't laugh about the amount you drink or all the crazy stuff you do when you're drunk.

Best definition I've heard is if drinking causes problems in any area of your life ( job, family, legal, health, relationships, etc )

If they've been doing this for years, then yeah, that's my definition.
