Bregman will not do media interviews for "a week or 2"

Kind of sounds like he is feeling the pressure of being the team leader.

Struggling offensively, #LSU SS Alex Bregman (@ABREG_1) will not be available for media interviews for a 'week or two' per spokesman.

As media savvy and media friendly as #LSU's Paul Mainieri is, I can't imagine this was a decision/request reached without a ton of thought.

Or he's trying new methods to get out of his hitting slump.

Fat Chicks is a better method. We need a bus load of them dropped of behind the bleachers in left......

just for the record... i'm not doing any media interviews until Bregman does.

Good. I like Bregman and he's a great ambassador to LSU, but sometimes it feels like he comes on too strong and I'm sure that burdens the team chemistry. He's a great talent and seems like a great guy but I could imagine as a hypothetical teammate being a little overwhelmed

Fine with me. He doesn't owe anything to anyone except his coaches and teammates IMO.

never understood why athletes are forced to be available to media anyway.

Does this also mean no more #RakeCity tweets after 2-1 wins? Too bad.

He's one of the most over liked players in LSU history.

Good for him. The pressure put on this kid since he has stepped onto campus has been unreal. People need to remember, he's still a kid, just let him play and forget all the other BS.

I don't know why the players are talking to the media, much, if at all, anyway. I want them to play baseball and concentrate on that. I don't care whether they ever talk to the media and refusing to do so has zero to do with leadership on the field or in the dugout. Their business is baseball not public relations. Public relations doesn't win ballgames. Let PM talk to the media. Players are representin' on the field.
Much ado about what's probably nothing more than a kid who wants to concentrate on the game, the team and his own playing. He should ignore the media and most of the comments in this thread if he's reading anything at all.

I am a huge Breggers supporter, but this is a disappointing.
He made this his team, and he has to represent the team. Be a man about it.

I never read any comments from the players. If they did one interview per month I wouldn't see the difference.
