Awesome. other teenage boys will think twice before fricking his daughter.
the next guy won't have to worry about her crazy dad coming home because her crazy dad will be in prison.

Man hears rustling in his house in the middle of the night, gets gun, and walks around. Hears someone in his daughters room, opens door, some guy gets up and tries to run out. The dad thinks the guy is running for him and shoots. Reminder that it is prob dark the whole time. Dad realizes soon that he just shot his daughters boyfriend. Bad situation for the family.

....even worse situation for gun rights in the end.

Honestly, if I hear someone in my house and it's dark and I see them coming towards me, I'm shooting first and asking later too. I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's a totally justifiable situation if it did.

So if the kid pushed the dad in his own house, that isn't an attack?

So a push from a kid is cause for escalation to kill him? The dad was pissed and killed the kid in a fit of rage that is my guess.

Think about it this way.....

You have a daughter. You think your daughter is a good girl, goes to church, makes good grades but has a boyfriend that you know about. You like the guy but you don't want your daughter getting to close in case he holds her back from her dreams of becoming a ballerina at Juilliard.

She starts getting serious because she is soon to learn that prom is coming up and this boyfriend of her's keeps getting closer. You start getting worried, but at the same time it's your daughters life so you gotta give her some space.

Next thing you now Al Green is playing in her room one night while you're asleep and you start hearing some moaning sounds and a few thuds against the wall. You get out of bed, bust up in the room and find some dudes arse all up in the air giving the dirty to your daughter.

You yell "Hey mofricka, what the hell you doing" and got a gun in your hand (because you aren't sure if it's a group of homeless people who like Al Green and just wanting to get high). He says "frick you dude i'm screwing your daughter" and you continue to yell expletives at him. Him being nude, he tries to act a man and confronts you and starts to hit you. You gotta make a stand and a fight entails which in the end you end up shooting the kid by accident.

Should you go to jail?

If those reports are true, I now feel bad for the dad. If it was in a dramatic fashion and he thinks his daughter is being raped, then shoots someone and kills them, because is daughter is a liar and a slut...well damn that is terrible.

That girl will be fricked in the head now.

I would yell sternly and tell him to GTFO, as most would I'm sure. IF he pushed me or layed his hands on me, then he will meet my judge. I probably wouldn't shoot him, but if after drawing my gun on him and he continued the altercation, then he's gone. I don't see the problem with that at all.

that's fine... but just be prepared to defend youself in court, causing tons of pain and suffering for a lot of people, including your own daughter and yourself.

again, i'm not saying you wouldn't be in the right, but pulling the trigger is gonna cost everyone.

Would I shoot him after him refusing to leave my home? Probably. I'd at least threaten him and hold the gun to his head. At that point he's an intruder and no longer is invited into the house. That's fully within the law IMO.

but your daughter invited him in the house. He was an invited guest.

Doesn't seem like you should be able to kill someone for pushing you.

You can kill someone in your own home if they're not invited. Don't even have to fear for life.

After you tell him to GTFO and he pushes you, you have every right to shoot him. I"m not sure what the law says, but I'd be confident that you'd get away with it in Texas with a good lawyer.

Yep, if he puts his hands on the dad first in the dad's home...in Texas....dad walks..as he should

Really?? So you are saying that if in Texas, you get into an argument with someone in your home and that person pushes you, you have the right to kill them because you are in your home in Texas.

I can promise you this was not a home invasion. The boy was certainly let in this home.

reports here in Houston are saying that her brother discovered the guy in the room, went and told dad, and he came to investigate with gun. Daughter told dad she doesn't know the boy. Father issued commands and kid did not comply and went to reach for something and that is when the dad shot him. Girl later confessed that she knew him and let him in the house. Case will be going to Grand Jury.

If these facts are true and the daughter really denied knowing him, then the Dad should fricking walk. You then have to your knowledge a man in your daughter's room reaching for something you have no idea what he's reaching for.

Who knows how far the kid would take it. Maybe the kid would be able to overpower the guy and take his gun and cause harm to him and his family. Why wait to find out? Kid's dumb enough to lay hands or not comply in someone else's house, then it's just natural selection at that point.

As a father of a girl, I see no issue here.

I have 3 of em. I see any issue. Kick the kids arse. If incapable of delivering the arse whooping, call the cops. Ruining your life over teen agers being teenagers is fricking stupid and this guy sounds, on the surface, to have a short fuse.

I've had to jump out a few second story windows in my teens.

eta: just read the rest. so the daughter claims to not know the kid then admits she does. This is just one big clusterfrick. Girl should be charged with manslaughter and dad walks. Still lives are changed and one kid is dead for coming see a girl. Sad.

Yeah I'm not sure what will happen to him if that is true. Either way the guy's life is ruined. He's going to pay everything he owns to that kid's parents or lawyers defending him in a civil case.
