This story isn't even close to having potential. The dad's motive is crystal clear so him getting attacked randomly isn't too likely. He's in his own home with his own weapons. The kid probably wasn't armed. The dad has a shite ton to prove. If the kid had been like 20 and his daughter 16 then we could have real potential.

I would yell sternly and tell him to GTFO, as most would I'm sure. IF he pushed me or layed his hands on me, then he will meet my judge. I probably wouldn't shoot him, but if after drawing my gun on him and he continued the altercation, then he's gone. I don't see the problem with that at all.

You're so fricking cool...

So if the kid pushed the dad in his own house, that isn't an attack? If the kid's dumb enough to be mad at the old man for interrupting his sex to push him, then he deserved what he got. Now, I'm not saying that happened. Maybe the old man is just pissed his daughter's a whore and shot the kid for no reason.

Man hears rustling in his house in the middle of the night, gets gun, and walks around. Hears someone in his daughters room, opens door, some guy gets up and tries to run out. The dad thinks the guy is running for him and shoots. Reminder that it is prob dark the whole time. Dad realizes soon that he just shot his daughters boyfriend. Bad situation for the family.

....even worse situation for gun rights in the end.

No way the dad should be charged. He was in the right.

Great. Someone has details of what happened. Please expound on them for us all.

No. I meant the disrespectful speech escalating into physical altercation. My bad.

is there nothing in texas law about having to have reasonable fear for your life?

i really don't know. Doesn't seem like you should be able to kill someone for pushing you.

Well that's different, but it's not exactly what you said the first time around.

Correct, which would make it the right or wrong thing, depending on who's side you are on genius

reports here in Houston are saying that her brother discovered the guy in the room, went and told dad, and he came to investigate with gun. Daughter told dad she doesn't know the boy. Father issued commands and kid did not comply and went to reach for something and that is when the dad shot him. Girl later confessed that she knew him and let him in the house. Case will be going to Grand Jury.

If Zimmerman wouldn't have had a busted head and fricked up broken nose, he would have gone to prison. Because I don't think a push warrants reasonable fear for your life.

Would I shoot him after him refusing to leave my home? Probably. I'd at least threaten him and hold the gun to his head. At that point he's an intruder and no longer is invited into the house. That's fully within the law IMO.

Also, if the daughter is a juvenile, the dad has the right to protect her as well, especially if a fight ensued.

Remember, this is INSIDE a man's house that he is obligated to protect. Maybe the kid was on top of him punching!

Well thats a whole new ball game. In that case, the father may be in the clear and the daughter is a dumb slut
