Rather be lucky than good....
Hell of a shot and on video to boot. That's a lifetime moment.

Nice shot, he must have leaked a gallon of blood in just a few seconds..

That was crazy, very rarely do you see an animal that big dropped in its tracks with an arrow.

Reminded me of will ferrel getting hit with the dart in old school
The elk just stood there like "what the frick just hit me"

That was wild. An animal that gigantic getting pegged and dropped.
Is it common for bow hunters to stick them in the front? I thought ideally a broad side shot was the best one you can place with an arrow.
I only ask because I'm not an archery hunter. Hell, I rarely hunt at all for that matter.

He was probably getting a little nervous with that big bull walking straight to him

Cant question the effectiveness in this instance, but I would have never and I mean never taken that shot. The shot probably severed an artery in the neck. He was equally likely to have flagged him by sticking him in the shoulder. Good fortune smiled on that young man.

I agree not a great shot to take, might have been his only one before the bull bolted.
I am not sure if he hit an artery or the heart. There was a lot of blood with steady flow for an artery.

Yea, I'd say that's probably a good reason... That's one giant animal.
I guess he may have also been concerned about it spotting him and running off. He seized an opportunity when it presented itself.
