I will buy it for comedies. Mainly because upon first viewing I may be laughing and miss a follow up joke that is even funnier. My example is Step Brothers, on second viewing I caught maybe 20 more funny things I had missed.
eta: also if you saw a movie when you were younger and really didn't get it, 12 Monkeys is my personal example, hated it when I first saw it,watched it again 10 years later and loved it.

Anything Will Ferrell. Multiple viewings make them better.

This might be the most blatant one - it's impossible to completely understand unless you do a little bit of research as well

The Hangover 1 and 2.
Pulp Fiction.
I know there's a few others that stand out but can't remember.

Basically for me
All Tarantino Movies, Mel Brooks Movies, and Nolan Movies. Then certain silly Comedy movies or certain Coen movies?

I never go out of my way to watch a movie again. If I'm bored and flipping channels, I may watch a bit of something I've seen. There are too many great movies I haven't seen to rewatch many.
Then again, I'm all about variety in several aspects of life. I'm the guy who goes to a restaurant and almost always orders something different, even if there is a dish I love at that restaurant. I'm often disappointed, but I just like trying new stuff.

absolutely disagree
that would then extend to all forms of art such as books and music
saying a piece is a failure if all of its complex subtleties aren't immediately grasped upon first viewing/reading/listen is ridiculous.
