Nobody is perfect and anybody that knows the game of Basketball will tell you not one play loses or wins you a game. Bad shot here, turnover there, Missed box out here, missed free throw there, All the Kid has ever done at LSU is play hard and give it all he has, has never taken a game or play off, had good and bad games like any player. Never complains never had any discipline problems, handles himself with class for 4 years, but he's always been the fall guy, always the worse player. This kid is crying his eyes out because he wants to Win. I've always been the first to speak to Andre's Shortcomings. I also realize what he's accomplished

He's a 5'8 basketball player playing against Giants and he will score over 1300 pts for his career and will probably end up 2nd All-time in 3'S made in LSU history. That doesn't happen if you suck. Ralston got a pass, Darenbecker got a pass, Hickey, Job, everyone gets a pass but Dre always gets Murdered...and believe me I understand this is a public forum and he deserves and can be ridiculed but to speak on this kid like he's scum is not right..

P.S. a freakin classic game and effort by these guys, after two bad loses they could have packed it in, but they came out with effort and went all out. Dre and Hickey was allowing way to much penetration from up top and that hurt us on some possessions have to tighten that up.

He's a great guy and player. He was 11 seconds away from being the hero. And always plays with tremendous effort.

I have to avoid the rant sometimes. I clicked on the game thread when we were up late in the game and all you see if bitching.

Great effort from the team. This season still isn't over.

All of what you said about Dre is true. I love Dre and always will for what he has meant to LSU and what he represents.

I do think you're unfairly painting too many people on this board with the same broad brushstroke that should be reserved for a vocal (unfortunately) minority.

Hickey is actually the one getting murdered. Dre missed a big FT, for sure,., but i don't see him catching too much shite around here

This game was about more than missed FT or a turnover.

I don't think anyone needs to hang his head on this game except maybe Martin, because he didn't seem to show up.

Half the people on here are blaming Hickey and the other 80% are blaming the refs.

I know you're his bro and you need to take up for him, but this is not really happening on the board.

People are looking to find out why LSU lost and everything has come up. Everything. Dre is not being murdered at all.

We are not in most games without Andre Stringer in his LSU career. I for one don't care what others say. Stringer will always be remembered. Can't say that about all of them that suited up.

You're too close(understandable) if you don't see JOB, Hickey getting criticized just as much. And the only break Derenbecker got was because everybody knew he sucked so they just expected it.

i understand wanting to take the last shot, but he has to give that ball up to the wide open guy at mid court. Didnt even give us a chance

That's an amazing stat!
Aside from all the basketball stuff, Andre is a person of great character and will be sorely missed by me. I know I'll be crying on Senior day.

He must be really hurting right now, along with yourself.

As other posters to your thread have pointed out, many, many of the people posting here just don't get that basketball isn't about a missed free throw (Andre), a botched final second shot (Anthony). They don't seem to watch the rest of the game. I distinctly remember Andre's FT's keeping us in the game over Auburn 10 or so days ago. Anthony has won a game or sent us into overtime many a time with a final shot.
People have such short memories.

Hickey is getting double murdered on here tonight. It's just ridiculous.
I really hope the guys don't ever come here and read the comments.
If it were me, I'd never walk out on a court again.

So saying he should have made the free throws at the end is speaking of him like scum? I haven't seen anybody speak ill of Stringer's character. Just that if he made his free throws at the end they most likely would have won. We can't say that?

many, many times when it's been like we needed a big shot in a game, Stringer has come through. Tell him to keep his head up.

No player should be dogged for that one.

Johnny Jones maybe, but not these players.

I'm proud of them today.

Everybody loves Andre. Tough ft but this game was not about that.

If Coleman doesn't get a foul called on Harrison, we probably win.
If Dre makes the free throw, we probably win.
If they call a travel on Young, we probably win.(FTR I wasn't looking close enough to attest to the fact that he actually walked but I'll take everyone's word for it.
If we don't get fricked by the refs the entire game, we probably win.

A lot of ifs in this game. One thing I can assure you is that when all's said and done, your brother won't be remembered for missing that ft. He's put in too much work and done too well to have that overshadow everything.

No matter what people may say or have said about him in games past, he'll be remembered for all the good he's done for this program. Which is a lot.

JoB gets crucified here. It's disgusting sometimes. He doesn't ever get much of a pass.

I think most people blame the bad officiating. The SEC is a joke for away teams, 70% loss rate, and that's WITH UF and UK being dominant.

As someone else said, in a close loss, you can pick a dozen people and things to blame, which is really proof that the loss goes on the team as a whole. Singling out one thing is ridiculous.

I'm happy with the performance. If they'd have beaten UK, I don't think I'd have cared about the post season. shite, if they beat UF, I won't care. They're still a bit sloppy, and I think next year will be a huge breakout season for them.
