$11-$12/hr based on an 8hr day. Dinner for a couple hours $15/hr.

Give her $40 bucks if it's for a few hours.

If its all day, pay her like $13/hr

$10-$20 per hour depending on what type of babysitter.

Teenager VS adult VS daycare worker VS agency caretaker, etc...

Grandparents live nearby.

When they're not available we pay a neighborhood friend (12-14 y/o) like $60 for the evening.

That said if it's just a few hours I would give a minimum of $40-$50 so it's at least worth their time. Babysitters are like gold around my house, take care of them and don't share their names.

$12 an hour. My kids are asleep by 8:30, so the babysitter is doing 2 hours max of actual babysitting and 2+ hours watching TV.

I have two children and try to always give at least 60 to 80 for an evening.

If it's an all day game i give double that.

It makes it pretty easy to find a sitter if you pay them well.

$10 an hour but always round up to the next hour--3 hrs 15 mins gets 40 bucks. 3 hrs 45 mins usually $45

Way too much, but the girl we use is in college and is a good kid so I don't mind helping her out. $20/hour in the evenings to go out. We rarely need one during the day.

I do sort of by the job...

Short stint (an hour or 2), 30 or 40 bucks.

A long night out, 50 - 60.

Over-nighter, 100 - 125.

You get the pic... Kinda need a higher rate for short stints, or it's not worth their time. Longer stints are worth it for the total payout.

I pay $60 when we go out on the town 3-4 hours. The old lady likes to do $10 an hour and tries to figure it to the minute when we're pulling up.

We pay our Nanny $17/hr and $20/hr off time baby sitting

Eta: she tutors, makes lunches, cleans kitchen, folds laundry, and lays down the law during the week.

We cover her on holidays as well. Regardless of if we take leave and hang with kids. She's valuable and we will NOT lose her.

.....all cash.....no taxes. She's a college student too.
