Freaking right wingers!
How many times will this kind of "Right wing media hatred" and "talking points" be repeated and how long will "right -wing haters" "succumb to the fear mongering and "anger points that are being fed to you" :

The great irony is that the greatest loss of constitutional protections has occurred under a man who came to office promising to reform security laws and often refers to himself as a former constitutional law professor. An iconic figure for many liberals, President Barack Obama has divided the civil liberties community and expanded both the security state and his own unchecked powers. He has taken actions that would have made Richard Nixon blush – from warrantless surveillance to quashing dozens of privacy lawsuits, to claiming the right to kill any citizen, on his sole authority. He has also rolled back key international principles in expanding drone attacks and promising not to prosecute officials for torture.

declaring national doughnut week is different from arbitrarily changing this failed law because it is such a failure, it has to be manipulated; a law that was inflicted on the country by one party...for all the talk about the need for bi partisanship on the left and yet they still want to cram it down the throats of every citizen, no matter what it takes, government control must be achieved.
the really sad part is that Republicans are too lame to call him out and stand up to him

how can you criticize a guy for something he hasn't done?
But he HAS done it. And as another poster said, it's the type of executive orders that disturbs me.
For example. I don't recall a President ever issuing EO's for agencies to ignore existing laws. Or, EO's retroactively amending parts of existing laws by changing deadlines set by congress in the law.
To me, that is a very dangerous precedent.

So you are saying there is a SUBSTANTIVE DIFFERENCE between a US President declaring Tuesday "National Doggy Costume Day" and arbitrarily and unilaterally changing Legislation that affects every living American (except Congress) and subverting Separation Of Powers Extra-Constitutionally on a personal whim for political advantage?
Hmmmm. I'll have to sleep on that.

The point the article seems to miss is that much of the concern from the right stems from Obama's State of the Union speech and his declared intent to use executive orders MORE in the FUTURE, bypassing congress MORE often than he has in the PAST.
And yet he's way behind Reagan and Bush. So how rational is this panic and how much is just typical partisan stupidity?

He declared his intention, as of January 2014, to bypass congress more often in the future and to govern more by executive order. I think that declared intention is worthy of criticism.
I cannot ever recall openly stating they intended to use EOs to circumvent Congress. That distinction cannot be ignored, dismissed, nor brushed aside in any honest assessment of Obama's conduct in the arena.

Obama is using his EOs to break or circumvent the law. Previous POTUS's used EOs as aids in enforcing the law. Perhaps that is salient?

Not on here. The dumbasses on here insist that the executive orders are a way to circumvent congress.

Would you agree that comparing just the sheer number and not the types of orders is a weak arse bullshite comparison? It puts an executive order to fly flags at half mast on the same footing as ignoring or changing federal law.

Please read LAs post again right below your OP. Obama hates viscerally the Constitution, and Republicans because they oppose his will. He definitely wants and has stated so about it the powers of a tyrant. The misuse of the word "alleged" is sickening to see in far too many cases and his desires and your OP are definitely one of them.

How can you possibly know everyone who disagrees with all things Obama do so because of "hatred"?

Well since he has been using it less historically than other presidents I don't see why this would be such a big deal.

Why exactly does your dumb arse think that it's "a threat" might be the better question.

That's just not happening though. You're just clinging to his rhetoric, which is just as silly as the left buying into his many promises.

What do you call it when Congress passes a law, and then the POTUS issues an EO to not abide by it?
