Just finished. Awesome season. Bummed about Freddy and especially Doug. Now I hate that I have to wait a year. Only good thing about TV series are they make me pace myself.

Something is going to come of revoking Feng's immunity, too. Obviously it satiated the thirst of the Chinese, but I have a feeling that little tidbit comes back to bite Pres. Underwood in the arse with a future storyline (seems too important for Dunbar to mention the potential ramifications for it not to be foreshadowing).

This whole thing reeks of LBJ

In real life it would have simply made his word worthless. The next time he offered asylum to a refugee in exchange for information that refugee better think twice.

Has anyone brought up the f*%cking threesome with Meachem? What a bizare twist. I do love this show. I think Frank will cover up the Stamper death somehow and march on, and will not go down in the third season.

How can people pull against Frank? I wish there were more people like him. He cuts the fat and works his dick off. Is it always ethical? Nope...but he gets it done. This country wasn't built on people being pussies.

Frank is more alpha than everyone, and he won't ever go to jail. He will got assassinated before he goes to jail.

The lasting idea of this whole series is what Frank said to Sharpe, that "just shy of treason" is equal to "politics."

Our blue collar American way runs on an engine of white collar cut throats inside the DC beltway. frick or be fricked.

Doug was a pussy...didn't even defend himself. Didn't they say it had been 2 weeks or so since his car went missing? He gone, regardless.

They really could have done without the gay 3some especially since they have all acted like it never happened. I guess the writers are saving that for next season. It was awkward and unnecessary so far not to mention I have a hard time pulling for FU now, before he had charisma now he is just a psycho creep.

Awkward? Absolutely (I think you can say that shock value was definitely at play). Unnecessary? Not really. I think it further defines Frank and Claire as people that are abnormal; these aren't your typical Americans, yet they now own the White House. Meechum just made for a convenient target (don't think much was meant by his role in the whole thing other than for it to be scandalous, unless of course Meechum breaks rank later on and uses that incident as leverage).

this is kinda what I was thinking. They manipulated him to make him a possible scapegoat in the future

i dont think it will be hard to blame dougs death on a crazy ex hooker that has his car. throw doug under the bus as having fallen off the wagon and back on booze and hookers. i dont see that being a major storyline in season 3.

But the two journalists, the editor and the hackers are def gonna come at Frank next season.

And take him down from the highest position when a 1%er and other powerful and wealthy people could not, thus restoring everyone's faith in democracy and ourselves (the little man).

This is what i didnt get. He just let her clobber him multiple times. Either he wanted to die or it was just shitty writing

Or the sheer fricking shock of it, which is more realistic than you think.

For real, Doug got walloped pretty hard by that rock so he was probably out of it. Anyways, Doug was the "failsafe" - so my guess is that Frank denigrates him as a rogue element in season 3.

I know you're into this type of subtle direction stuff so thought I'd say it referencing you, but I thought this bit was great... The 1st season they always had the chess board in the background as a sort of metaphor to the chess game being played by Frank and Stamper. In the second they used the model battle construction Frank kept working on as he was "waging war" this season. He even makes reference to it to Sharp saying, "help me finish it". Just great stuff there, so creative.
