People always need somebody to blame... The dude played his arse off for this franchise for 7 years, and did things we can only hope AD can

he halfed assed his last year then turned it on in the playoffs.

He like...quarter assed his last year

That's another reason I hold a grudge. Dude noticeably wasn't trying out there. He was checked out on this franchise WAY before we actually traded him.

CP will always be one of my favorite Hornets. And I can't blame him for leaving, this franchise back then was a joke. Shinn was a horrible owner who use the team like a ATM. CP practice at the Alario Center for his whole tenure here, they traded away Tyson Chandler to the Bobcats. If Benson was our owner back then I feel that CP would have never left New Orleans.

He finished 6th in PER his last year...not to mention his legendary playoff against the Lakers.

CP absolutely should have left. We were a complete shitshow.

come on. He refused to take over games the the 4th quarter and had single digit scoring efforts

then he just magically played out of his mind in the playoffs. If we would have given any effort in the regular season, we wouldn't have played the lakers

the thing with CP3 is, ownership betrayed him, they gave him empty promises. However, the way he played his last year and how he publicly stomped his feet around in front of the media is unforgivable. The guy is a damn good PG and I wish him the best of luck and maybe in the future he returns to NOLA in a Pelicans jersey.

If CP3 loved New Orleans so much he should have signed here this past offseason.

I don't hold a grudge against him leaving, but all this talk of "he deserved better" is bullshite. The dude made/makes 7-8 figures a year playing basketball for a living- he's getting exactly what he deserves. He's free to desire a better opportunity, but to act like he was some kind of sob story because we traded Tyson Chandler, or because the NBA owned the team for a period of time is just stupid.

In my opinion he did the right thing.

I don't blame him for demanding a trade. We had no direction, we were owned by the league, and he knew he was going to not resign.

At least we got some players for Chris Paul. We got nothing for David West who just left in FA and everyone still loves his arse.

I enjoyed reading that article. Very well written, I'd somehow forgotten most of that stuff. Once Shinn sold the franchise, there really was no chance of CP3 staying

Meh, maybe Dell didn't court him as much as the clippers. He already switched cities and made the clipps acquire players. It would have made him look bad to switch back. We were a bit of a question mark this past off season.

I don't blame him. I think there is a solid chance that he comes back here as an old veteran when AD is in his prime, a la chauncey billups

I was under the impression that he hated New Orleans while he was here. Oh well it's destiny that we defeat the Clippers next year in the WCF

What that is not true at all, CP did a lot of things for the city.

Because he left quietly versus forcing his way out.

Human beings are really funny how they see what they want to see . . . how they project. I'd like some specific examples of how Paul stomped his feet around in front of the media. As far as his effort on the court, that's debatable. I do know there were times when he was frustrated.

The guy genuinely liked New Orleans, as did Jada. We had a shite show for a franchise, however. And I agree that things may have been completely different if Benson had purchased the team a few years earlier.

i don't think he wanted to stay, and i don't think the franchise wanted to pay him the kinda money it would have cost to keep him, especially since he was going to be coming off ACL surgery.
