A judge said Thursday that Knox was sentenced to 28 1/2 years in prison. Sollecito's sentence was 25 years.

Good thing she's in the US and most think she's innocent.
We won't extradite her.

wow, no double jeopardy in italy?
eta: never mind

It is unlikely that Knox, who lives in Seattle, Washington, will return to Italy to serve additional prison time because U.S. law dictates that a person cannot be tried twice on the same charge, a legal expert told CNN. He believes that if Italy were to ask for extradition, U.S. officials would deny the request.

Dressed in a purple sweater with sunglasses nestled on his collar, Sollecito made it to the tribunal for the morning session and was expected to return for the verdict, but his attorney, Luca Maori, said Thursday evening that Sollecito would not be coming back to court.

she said she's not going back to italy so really means nothing.

No Double Jeopardy in the US so no extradition from here. While it sucks she can't leave the country. I'd rather be stuck vacationing and traveling here than in an Italian prison.

Can't she just fly to other countries without extradition laws? LIke Russia or Panama

You guys should research Italian Justice and this prosecutor. Total farce. Makes the OJ trial seem legit.

Suck a dick Italy.
ETA: I guess she has to avoid all EU countries, as well.

If you followed the trial you would laugh even harder at their justice system. The biggest joke is that the Prosecutor decided to change his explanation for motive this go-around. If you remember, and I am sure the OT couldn't forget this, the proposed motive the first time around was that they were all involved in a sex game that got out of hand causing the murders. Turns out the Prosecutor just completely made that up without any evidence to get the jury/court fired up. This go-around he is theorizing that the murder was the result of a fight over not cleaning the apartment bathroom. One can only imagine the field day a defense attorney would have with a prosecutor that pulled this in the U.S.

Yes if you followed the case..
Or at least not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I think she's guilty as sin. She may have not held the knife but she was certainly in on the planning and execution of it. If you read the facts of the case it seems pretty plain.
The kangaroo court in Italy makes it difficult to cut through the BS spewn on both sides and see the facts.
