Hey I live in Shreveport, I'm coming to Baton Rouge this weekend. Last time I was there I didn't have time to stop and eat anywhere. Now I'll have plenty of time. So, what are the best places to eat?

The best place is in a little borough on the outskirts of town. From downtown you head west on I-10 about an hour. When you see a sign that says "Lafayette" turn there.

Could you utilize a shot gun more effectively when trying your damned best to not kill a duck in flight? Do tell us more about what are your thoughts on food/price range/ likes/dislikes etc., there are many others to include in your big assed ball park

It's just sad that these are on anyone's list.
I admit I am down on a chain steakhouses, but the fact that chain steakhouses are even mentioned is an indictment.
I'm catching on to the plight of people who live in BR. I love coming there to eat because I only get there a few times a year, but the list NEVER changes.

Both are prime, high-end steakhouses that do incredibly well.
I've never had a bad meal at either one. Fleming's has one of best burgers in town, BBQ shrimp appetizer, pork chop and chocolate lava cake.
Ruth's makes an incredible bisque, fantastic steaks and delicious au gratin.
Both aren't "local" but that doesn't discount what they do.

You may think it is sad that anyone might include fine steakhouses on their lists of best places to eat, but you are out of touch with most people. I learned when working in the casino industry that most people will opt for steak if offered a free meal. That is why you can't turn around in Las Vegas without running into an upscale steakhouse.
