Chevy has revealed the Chevy Reaper:

Nothing wrong with a little healthy competition. All that means is we'll continue to see improvements between the two.

EDIT:

More info here. Reaper

Tuned by Lingenfelter, 0-60 estimated 6 seconds... Ford has got some SERIOUS competition.

fricking terrible, and it's not actually GM doing it. It's an aftermarket company doing some aesthetic changes.

Serious competition? What's the price tag? You could buy multiple 600hp Hennessey Raptors for one of those monstrosities.

Not a fan. But I have never liked the racing/flashy trucks.

GM may not be the only one. It looks like Toyota may be releasing an off-road Tundra

TRD Pro

quote:

A short TRD Pro teaser commercial showing a Tundra that appears slightly lifted with a unique grille, black wheels, a modified-sounding exhaust and a TRD Pro badge on the tailgate is all the company has released so far. Exactly how modified the truck will be is unknown, but it looks like it could be a competitor to Ford’s SVT Raptor, with the likely upgrades coming to the shocks, wheels and exhaust.

I'm a GM guy generally, family owned a dealership for 40 years, but that truck has got to be the ugliest pos I have ever seen.

Probably developed by some Obama wonk in the beltway no work experience hipster.

Do not want.

Hmmm not a fan. 6 seconds doesn't sound overly impressive either. 5.3 with 3.42 rear end was supposedly tested at 6.7 seconds.

Lingenfelter is all about on road performance, Southern Comfort is all about ugly accessories. I don't think this will be very competitive off road.

In terms of capability: Ram Runner > Raptor > Reaper

May be able to throw Toyota's Baja Tacoma ahead of this Reaper too.

Isn't Ford discontinuing the Raptor when the 2015's come out?
