When did he start? I saw Umphrey's at the Varsity two years ago, not sure if that was him or not but that's a solid pull.

I didnt go but he got Deftones too

true story-my BFF booked that show. It was ok, but I'm not big into rap. I never knew galactic came, would've went to that. The rest, meh...

No.

I have given them multiple chances, attending four (4) shows. No soul whatsoever. They are an awful band and an insult to my intelligence. Their only redeeming quality is an interesting taste in covers, yet they even manage to frick that up by butchering them beyond belief.

the actual Michael Jordan days might have been when MJ was actually playing. Glen Prejean had a nice run in the 90's with Widespread, Dave Matthews, Pavement, The Jayhawks, The Breeders, Sheryl Crow, Public Enemy, Ice T, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, 311, Marilyn Manson, Danzig, White Zombie, The Flaming Lips, Butthole Surfers, Jon Spencer, Tori Amos, G Love, Counting Crows and many more i have forgotten. Glen Built the foundation for that room, which was temporarily derailed by a lack of taste and vision but is now back on track.

No doubt, I was about to say the OP has low expectations (no offense)

you didnt even mention Elliot Smith, Son Volt, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Luscious Jackson and on and on...

I prefaced it by saying there must have been others i forgot. Good call on Luscious J and Son Volt. Not to be "way back when" but man it was all about going to see music. No posturing around drinking sidecars and fricking around the phone waiting to be seen.

All of the above shows would've been incredible to catch in a room that small.

Alex probably hired your boy to promote the show like he does with all of his hip hop shows

Umphrey's brings the heat.

I wish the Nola show wasn't at the civic. That room sounds like dogshite.

He did but given the black/white mix of that audience it wasn't a tough sell. That was one of his best shows profit wise.
