I think you guys have done well considering location. Never going to recruit with the likes if Ohio state and Michigan because they are in the recruiting hit beds of the north. Hell I've been telling people TCU is one of the most talented teams in the big 12, yet they want Gary the pig to replace miles. Just them being in Texas eans they will always have access to better recruits. The recruiting rankings would suggest TCU should be better than owa, but they weren't.

Iowa has a reasonable chance of winning the Big 10 West next season. After the realignment, the strongest programs (MI St. & OH St.) are in the East.

All of LSU's 2009/2010 class are in the NFL. Didn't you hear, we set the NFL record for underclassman declaring last season. This year could have been a national title run for the Tigers.
Instead you end up playing a close game against an average Iowa team in the Outback Bowl. Ironic isn't it?

And how do you justify paying a coach 3.65 million a year who sucks that bad at recruiting? If your answer is that he is good at developing talent and getting the best out of his players, then you are contradicting your point that recruiting rankings are significant.

Couldn't have been losing Mettenberger the last game of the year then starting an unproven QB in the bowl game.
But you are also the Iowa fan that said LSU as a team wouldn't break 100 yards rushing.
Your amazing trio of LB's sure had a great day.
With Mettenberger we would have won by 30+

First of all, that game wasn't as close as the score showed. Second, LSU constantly plays down to mediocre opponents. Interestingly enough, most of the time they win.
Inversely, Iowa often plays teams that they shouldn't beat with a lot of mettle... Yet still lose.
I'll take an LSU team that plays down to infer opponents and makes a habit of winning 10+ games per year over an Iowa team that is "gritty" and "tenacious" any day.

This was the 5th year senior class you guys beat in Tampa (link)...
A fifth year senior? You must first explain to us LSU fans what a fifth year senior means. Senior day around here means the redshirt sophomores are packing up.

Ferentz has been at Iowa 15 years. In that 15 year span Iowa finished the season ranked 5 times.
2002 8th
2003 8th
2004 8th
2008 20th
2009 7th
So in his history y'all have been ranked 33% of the time. Yet you act like y'all are fighting for a Top 10 finish on a year to year basis.

Also, I'm not sure why this is on the "Tiger Rant".

Yep, this board now definitely sucks. You can go back to your regularly scheduled circle jerk.
My apologies to the reasonable Tiger fans out there. What in the world happened here in the last 5-10 years?
Well, in fairness, this board is now populated with prepubescent morons and e-tough guys. That said, however, you really can't expect to come here with a hopelessly lame and totally defenseless premise that "We lost because we had a bad recruiting class 5 years ago," and not expect to be skewered with rationality such as "Where were the recruits from 2010, 2011 and 2012 that helped you compile that excellent 8-4 record?" Only bad 5th year seniors were allowed to play in the bowl game?
But your trolling skills are definitely 3-star.

I was at the game. Iowa travels well. You guys were very loud and as far as I encountered, a very respectful group of fans. Iowa is actually one of the few Big Ten teams I like and I will definitely be pulling for you against Ohio State. Good luck next year.

Since that, our Rivals rank has been #42, #30, #43 and #53 over the past four years.
If LSU brought in four consecutive recruiting classes like the ones you listed, there would be riots in the streets of Baton Rouge.
Well, maybe not 'riots' but there would be blood....
