Good people around there but the trespassers were bad 8 or so years ago. Dunno about now. A trespasser actually died on the lease I used to hunt, another hunter had a pistol shown to him when he caught someone in his stand

I don't know if anyone remembers in the old Walmart in Jonesboro there was a 140" typical 8pt on the wall in the sporting goods. I can't remember if it was the one killed around 9 Pines or West of Hodge.

The guys I know from there were ex farmers who now work offshore, they still have a lot of AG over that way?

No it's mostly timber. It is an offshore town though.

What club you hunt on? I hunted in a club around there when I got out of highschool. We ran dogs in that area. They kill some good deer in there now. You know any of the Potts? One of them killed a huge deer a few years ago in that area.

I don't know too many people around there. Property we hunted butted up to the cemetery and went all the way on either side of 9 pine. They still hunt there but I haven't been in a while. Their camp house was just north of the Lazy Gator

Yeah most of them worked offshore

I think all of them were from Houma/thibodaux

We rode in the Christmas parade on ATV's one time and three beads. Rednecks loved it

Not proud. Would not post. Small doe for some freezer filling? Maybe. Small spike? No.

No different than posting a photo with a limit of rabbits.

The interesting thing to me is the terrain. I hunted Joyce WMA a few times and decided it's easier to hunt high ground. Hat's off to a good swamp hunter.

I wouldn't be proud of that but I try not to hurt the deer heard no matter whose land I am hunting on. I am proud of anything I kill with my bow.

I think this is what we called the coonass lease. There was one guy that ran dogs with use out of that club can't remember his name. My buddy lives on the road to the right behind their camp.

Neither here nor there to me but do keep in mind that these aren't deer he's fed are from a place with a fence around it. He actually "hunted" them.

I hunt in a pretty rough spot where every deer is a trophy. Possibly the same swamp he was hunting. I won't rag on anyone for legally shooting what they want, but I'm also damn sure not gonna shoot a 40# doe.

If that makes him happy, to him.

people that are the "great white hunter type" just don't get it. One can't eat horns.

I was a big buck hunter and killed my fair share of them. In the last 4-5 years, I kill whatever I want just for the meat. I sure as hell will take a young deer way before an older one. They taste so much better. Also, deer are like cows, you keep your breeders and eat the calf's.

Besides, I own my own land and I will take whatever the hell I want and when I want it. So, those that are saying that the guy in the picture with two young deer is a POS, well, to each his own. Hell, he could be giving it to the needy.
