The thing is, we LSU fans haven't had much bowl success lately and only one BCS bowl the past 6 seasons. And after another somewhat unsatisfying year, LSU fans at least wanted to beat a traditional power.

Myself, I'm excited about any game with LSU and I think Iowa is plenty good enough to win and its a good matchup.

I just think it is funny to hear Iowa fans beat their chest how they are gonna bring the whole state of Iowa and sell 30,000 tickets to the Outback Bowl. And they got some LSU fans falling for that crap.

As of today Iowa is still 600 tickets short of a sellout (10,900 out of 11,600)

Per Alleva, LSU sold 6,500 tickets (out of 12,000).

When all is said and done big bad Iowa has sold only 4,400 tickets more than LSU.

Oh well...don't talk it ....walk it!

I think people are overreacting to LSU being passed over off of ticket sales. TV may be killing attendance but it's also driving LSU's brand. People tune in nationally to watch LSU and that's where the real money is. The bowls would rather millions of viewers at home see outback commercials for 3 1/2 hours over a full stadium of 70,000 seeing the ad. The advertisers and sponsor money on tv is worth ALOT more than ticket sales. It's nice to sell tickets sure, but it's all about those tv ratings. That's why LSU does these neutral site openers. It's much easier to get an appealing OOC matchup on a neutral field than to get lets just say Oregon to come to TS. They can get a piece of the multimillion tv pie or the 92,500 pie at TS. As long as LSU keeps getting TV sets turned on they'll be fine.

Think about just this year. CBS chose LSU Bama as the lone prime time broadcast for them. Why? Because LSU was likely to beat Bama? Nope. It's because even in a "down year" they know people love to watch LSU on tv nationally.

So let me get this right. A crappy little Big 10 school with four losses, and one that's 1400 miles away from Tampa, has sold 4,400 more tickets than LSU and you are BRAGGING about it?

From the school. No way of knowing the total fan turnout until gameday. Much better/cheaper seats can be found elsewhere.

Well the B1G almost always outsells the SEC in the Florida bowls. This is nothing new. It was -15 in Iowa City yesterday...

I saw online, that there has been almost 50,000 tickets sold to the game, I'd be willing to bet that 30,000 and maybe more are Iowa fans. We will see on gameday, but hey at least it won't be a empty stadium.

You've got a point there. The wind chill here in Minnesota on Sunday is projected to be 65 below zero.

. Ugh he wasn't bragging. Talking about how Iowa fans seem to think they will completely fill the stadium.

From the way it sounds, Iowa will probably out number LSU fans 2 to 1.

Probably, and bowls will probably continue to pass on LSU in the future due to lack of bowl game interest.

And bowls will pass on Iowa because they don't win 6 games.

Yes they have the first choice from the East but have often bypassed better teams from the West. It caught up to them. You'll get no tears in LA, MS, AL, and AR.

I've encountered no one who thinks that. Who the frick hates the outback bowl commitee? Just you

If I was in Iowa right now where today's low is 7 degrees. I would be attending this game too. I would go to any bowl to get out of that shitty weather.
