Looking at buying a model 20. Can anyone give me their opinion on this weapon. I own 2 Glocks (model 23,19).

I know I have always wanted one and liked the one that I shot at the range once.

I've got the 10mm subcompact model, its a fine gun and shoots beautifully..

How's the recoil on that sub?

Its manageable, its a 10mm and as you'd expect its got a bit more pepper than a 9mm or a .40

I hate having too many bullets.

Have one. Bullets are $$$. Get a 40 Wolf barrel and you're set
Recoil isn't bad because it is a big gun. Put your hands on one first because the grip is made for big hands and some people don't like the length

40 bullets and 10mm auto bullets are the same size.

It was my dad's gun. After looking around for a while, there was no real definitive answer if the barrel should be changed to a 40S&W barrel. Some said you should, some said it wasn't needed, some said they'd only shoot .40 out of a 10mm barrel at the range. He bought one, and 40cal mags for piece of mind. Has worked flawlessly
He also got a 6.5" 10mm barrel when he got the 40 stuff.

I've got the 20C model that comes stock with a ported slide and barrel. It's my favorite gun. I also have a 6.6 inch lone wolf barrel that I got for trips to the woods. The ported barrel has the recoil of a .40 and the long barrel gives it more kick but still not as snappy as my glock 36.
It's a big gun but a real pleasure to shoot and a really accurate pistol out to long ranges. You can find prvi partizan hollow point ammo for .39-.40 cents per round online. I've got around 400 rounds of that and then some 220 grain hardcast bullets for the day it's on my hip for a hog hunting excursion.
It's a bad mother fricker
Park Rangers in Greenland carry the glock 20 as defense against polar bears if that tells you anything.

Went to a 25yd range the other day after not shooting it for a year or so. Had 8" 10 shot groups twice on a 12" target with the stock barrel.
I could definitely see it putting out 1" groups scoped at that range. That was with Blazer steel that I had laying around.
I was, however, appalled at how scattered some of the "gun nut" guy's groups were at 15ft. My gf was shooting better with a pocket pistol and laughed at them

I carried one in the woods every day for 1.5yrs without a problem. It was exactly what I needed at the time. Cheap, powerful, and reliable

That's a reliable weapon ....... For "animal defense." You're plenty good with the G19 and G23 for "people SD."
I'd steer clear of the ported//compensated barrel. Poor choice for almost any defensive (animal, or people) weapon.
I'd steer clear of the compact (G29). Gonna be harder to control. That extra 1/2" is important.
You already have the .40 in the G23. Shoot the 10 mm in the G20 (ammo will be a little pricey).
