Life's Rich Pageant

And then they're all about the same which is good-great. The only one I don't care for too much is Out of Time. But deep down I think even they were mocking themselves with that album. Automatic got them back on track. I never owned Monster but it's decent. Never got in to Hi-fi or Up but Reveal and Around the Sun aren't too bad.

I only dismiss Out of Time.

Green is awesome. I wore that tape out.

I bet you are under 33 years old cause this is their later years when they were on the decline.

Oh I grew up listening to it all and had all the CDs because of my dad.

But when I first started buying my own REM and creating my own memories of the band, it was the 90s stuff that is their declining years per most. So that's what I gravitates towards when thinking back on my favorites.

Yes on 1 and 2. I have to vote Automatic for the People as No. 3 based solely on "Find the River."

There is no wrong answer to this question.

kinda like we both like separate bands..

Yup. Two bands. Pre-Document and Post LRP. I basically like nothing from the latter. If I must pick one, it's probably Reckoning right now, but I have listed, LRP, Murmur and Fables before.

we've discussed this before but draw the line at IRS records and Warner like most fans. Not Life's Rich and Document.

Well, that's just wrong. The music changed independent of the label. Document is #decline.

My Top Ten, but a significant drop off after Green IMO, though there are enjoyable tracks on later period albums...

Murmur
Chronic Town EP
Life's Rich Pageant
Reckoning
Document
Fables of the Reconstruction
Green
Monster
Automatic For the Peeps
New Adventures
