I did cry at the movie.
When Forest was talking at Jenny's grave. Of course, my dad had just passed about a month prior, so that scene was a little emotional for me.

This one imo. Hanks did a great job of showing joy and sorrow on his face simultaneously.
That scene was incredible. His mannerisms with his hand to his chest, the look on his face, the choked voice...Wow. You nailed it.

when Lt Dan found his piece with God.
and thanked Forrest for saving his life.

I always figured Obama's mom as at that party, as was his real daddy too...

Is there a chance that's not his son? How didn't Forrest get the aids?
AIDS was a much more aggressive disease back then. It didn't take years for people to die. They hadn't even figured out what it was until 85 or so. We have to assume she got it after she gave birth to little Forrest.
Also, it is "harder" for a man to get infected from a woman than a woman from the man, just by the nature of how fluids are exchanged.

I can't watch that movie without tearing up at that part. When he breaks down and is like "He's so smart...you'd be so proud.." I'm all over the place.
While it's not one of my favorites (though I do love it), it's easily one of the "best" movies of all time I think. Tom Hanks is just completely fricking awesome.

The entire movie is inspirational. I mean, if a semi-retarded alabama man can bang princess buttercup, there's nothing I can't do.

Just based on the responses/feedback it's clear this is one of those movies that will move just about anybody If a bunch of ballas on Tigerdroppings will admit it making them fuzzy that has to count for something
I think that makes it special.

my first response in this thread was obviously in jest. But fg is the only movie that's made me cry.

When he steps in the big pile of dog shite while running. Many life lessons taken from that one line...

for the longest time for me it was at jenny's grave.
but since i've had children it's the
in the midst of processing the fact that he has a son and what that would do to his life and what that means in what is the already complicated relationship btwn him and jenny, he automatically does what parents do and instantly worries about the welfare and status of his son over his own. like he in a split second thinks of how bad he was treated bc he was different as a kid and would never want someone else to go thru that especially if it was his "fault".
it was never a scene that got me before.
