This. One of the single greatest moments in acting history IMO.

As for as tearjerker moments go, it's right up there with the last scene of E.T., when he tells a crying Elliot, "I'll. Be. Right. Here."

Equally moving for me. I love both of those scenes. That was true acting and exceptional at that. I think back of Hanks in his Bosom Buddies days and you would have never thought that guy was capable of that.

And side note-One of my favorite scenes for some reason (not inspiring) was when he opened the letter and found out he had invested in some "fruit company". There's been many speculations on how many billions he was worth but there was never a given amount of the initial investment. (inb4 Money Board).

The part that always gets me is when Gump asks Jenny To marry him and she says no.

And he replies "why don't you love me Jenny?"

For me, and maybe I'm just a sentimental fool, it's the part where Forrest....

Contracts AIDS from Jenny.

This!! I loved that part. Being a veteran who has lost a couple of buddies, that survivors guilt is very real. When Lt Dan thanked him for saving his life, i think he realized that his destiny wasnt what he thought it was and that he would rather be the first of his family to survive a war, rather then die. Very powerfull scene when he makes his peace with god!

Oh and thinking about it....what a dam great movie!!

Normally people crap on this movie on the Mb.

they also claim hanks isn't a great actor.

morons.

asking about little forest was brilliantly acted.

and yes, sometimes there aren't enough rocks.

If you're asking what scene cuts the onions it's probably where Forrest is at Jenny's grave and telling her about Little Forrest.
