Yes. But only red. In fact, I don't use green bell peppers in anything.

Didn't really follow it, just showing that the first gumbo recipe in the TD recipe book calls for onions only

Already had enough vegetables with 1 onion and 1 bell pepper.

Either way, this gumbo was 9.5/10 and I would put it up against any gumbo in the state

In just about any Cajun dish, you should have onions, bell pepper, celery, green onions and garlic.

Anything less is just uncivilized.

Bumping for a non yellow gumbo courtesy of Acadia parish... Well grew up there... Haven't added the chicken yet.... It's been simmering for about 2hrs
