you can try to pull MKG or barnes (not likely on either), but those are young options I wouldn't mind giving a shot.

Davis and Jrue are untouchable. I dont want to trade gordon but if he stays healthy until the trade deadline he is the most tradeable player. Ryan Anderson is also a big value in the league but i think he is too key to our team to trade. Honestly i think the most likely trade is gordon, if we can get a good C and clear cap that could be a great trade for us.

I'd be shocked if that hasn't always been the plan. No one intentionally builds a team with $20 million tied up in 6th men.

I think we ride this season out with this roster and wait to make a move on a big man in the offseason.

Will we need to clear some cap space to sign one in the offseason? Or will the expirings do that for us?

Yep. That would seem the obvious move.

Makes sense. They were/are trying to build up his value as much as possible right now. I also have a feeling it would be multi-team deal in order for the Pelicans to get something that truly improves the roster.

Gordon is locked in for a few years. He will be valuable to a contender or a rebuilding team.

Would anyone say no to a high pick, a young player, and an expiring contract for Gordon?

I'm kind of tempted by the Humphries and Sullinger trade without a pick. Young Prospect + cap space to sign a legit 3 and or 5 is good enough for me. Having a pick thrown in would be icing on the cake.

This is too early to discuss trade talk. When we get closer to the deadline the real trade contenders will be discussed. I think Gordon is our only trade option (with aminu if needed Fr numbers sake). If we are not contenders at that point, I say a high draft pick and reserve center is ideal. Possibly with the suns for plum and pick or the nuggets for hickson and pick. Gortat would be a great fa addition IMO. But Who the hell are we!

Anyone else think that AD (obviously), Anderson, and Jrue are the core? I think everyone else is fair game.

I'd agree with that. I also think it'd have to be a hell of a deal to trade Tyreke. Evans is giving you close to the 15/5/5 many hoped for, and I think Demps is pretty conscious of the team's image with players around the league and wouldn't want to tarnish that image trading Tyreke less than 6 months after signing him. It'd be different if it just wasn't working out with Tyreke, but like I said, he's giving the Pelicans more or less what they expected.

Reke is part of the future, IMO. and will likely move to EG's spot.

However, if a blockbuster deal comes along, I guess you could argue that anyone other than AD could be moved

This.

I dont expect any big moves until the summer. Aminu has a veto, so he will be tough to move and, if possible, I would like to keep him as bench 4, spot start 3 anyway.

I dont think they need to move Evans to the starting lineup if Gordon is dealt. Get a guy like Danny Green or a Belinelli to pair with a competent two way 3 and Evans can play Super Sub with Anderson. That is his best role IMO

Look around the league. EVERY "good" team has an above average SF.

My god this is such a lie

LAC has Jared Dudley
Denver has Jordan Hamilton

Besides Miami, Indiana, and OKC none of the top teams have a SF doing anything special

You guys really have stop with this Rome being built in a day philosophy. It's not always about acquiring a need it's about acquiring the best assets.

I'm considering the fact that we don't have a 1st next year... so this is our team unless we make moves. Big holes at 3&5 = can't win.
