Anybody out there make a mid life career change that worked out? Does any of the OT sell cars for a living? Hear that you can make $ but it sucks. Thanks!

I was about to take bets on whether or not this was going to be about getting in to O&G.

I just started selling cars 4 months ago. Not very happy. Ive been in corporate sales for years, to me it feels as if you are an order taker. Its a crap shoot. Im actually doing well, but I am Desperately seeking something else.....

True. Underwater welding = $$$. If it isn't the best-paying "trade" job out there I'd like to know what is better.

I would never do a mid life career change to sell cars. Ever.
I was in the mortgage business for nearly 20 years and started my own business doing home theaters and home automation. About 4 years ago we transitioned to commercial low voltage work and data center infrastructure cabling and data center customer environment work. I couldn't be happier at this point in my life with the change and the results.

What do you do now? Is there something in your field you could transition into with some knowledge or are you looking for a total 180?
As others have said, selling cars isn't for the faint of heart - especially being a subordinate to much younger people (most of whom are morons).

Not necessarily a career change, but my wife and I are earning good extra money on the side selling a new skincare line, earning an extra $1K per month so far
