Heard there were lots of ducks seen in the flyover survey of NorfEast LA. Just got the cliff notes though but Mer Rouge/Jones stacked with ducks and geese is the report.
Need more details please.

It smells bad and is about 40 hrs away from being bombarded by a bunch of ignance.
Haven't really heard. I know that Franklin's has some birds, but not just a whole shitload.

I'm sitting in an airport with fog and rain keeping us from finishing the survey. Tomorrow is worse, so I guess I won't get it done.
Hard to be specific but we counted well over 100,000 ducks and 50,000 geese around Grad Cote NWR, got into big bunches of ducks and geese on both sides of Bayou Lafourche between Boeuf and Ouachita WMAs, saw a couple thousand ducks on Wham, but got into really big bunches of snows from about 10 miles north of Oak Ridge NE to east of Jones. I had a new pilot and am training new observers, so we struggle with exactly where we are while focusing on methods, identification, and estimation, but those are the general surveyed areas.
I can say with certainty that I saw WAY mere geese yesterday on 2/3 of a survey than I saw last year until mid January or maybe the whole year, and I think the duck numbers are high for a November as we'll. I wish I'd seen more water; many areas were very dry, but there were birds.

Did you get a chance to check my blind from the air like we talked about?
I'm pretty sure we have enough brush on it but I wanted a birds eye pic. If you were able to get the pics you can email them or I guess I will see you at the party tomorrow night.

There was some talk about taking a lil ride around tomorrow, but with the rain and a SE wind that won't be happening. Next time we go up I'll let you know.
