never going to happen. media can't finish speaking his name without follwing up with at least one of the following: "trobuled past", "legal troubles", "sucker punch", etc. also, Hill doesn't have Heisman numbers, at least to this point.

This is a must. Mett is playing phenomenal this year, but he wasn't able to engineer a comeback against UGA with ample time on the clock(playcalling, blah, blah, blah). That's the kind of shite that gets guys Heisman's.
I'll add Florida to the above list. They have a great defense. 300yds & 3 TD's this weekend get's him into the conversation for sure.

If we win out it means Mett stayed on his incredible pace. If he puts up unreal stats against Bama and outplays Johnny he'll defiantly get invited. I just don't see how Mariota doesn't win it this year though.

Who cares about the Heisman?if LSU wins out, they have a shot at the MNC as long as other things fall their way. That's all that matters. Mett being considered for the Heisman would just be icing on the cake.

The Heisman would be great for LSU. It would bring a lot of national attention to us. We need to promote this.

Agreed

Winning out will get him invited but beating those QBs who have been hyped since last year would only happen if Mett keeps up his pace AND they win out.

By keeping up his pace I mean that he already has plenty of awesome throws every single game so doing the same things against the gumps and aggies will make them Heisman moments. He has been so clutch on third downs that his third down conversions will speak volumes for him. That should get him invited but winning would take some choking by those above him in consideration.

Trust me, if we win the Heisman, we will care.

Sure, but that's a BIG if!

Yeah, but a win over Bama with 260-330 yards and 3-4 TD passes would boost him into being invited to New York

You my friend have a very strong grasp for the obvious. He still lacks that "Heisman moment" but he will have plenty of opportunities coming up. The team just needs to keep winning and the offense needs to keep up the scoring barrage. Fun to watch! Geaux Tigers.

Needless to say LSU will need to win big over Fl, and OM. Mett will need 300yds each game and 8-10 total TDs. THEN, absolutely must dominate 'Bama with his arm as LSU puts up 30+ in a win in Tuscaloosa. THEN he must clearly outplay Manzeil on national TV as LSU rolls A&M - 300+ yds and 4 TDs. Roll Arky with another 300+ 4td performance. FINALLY put up big numbers in SECCG and clearly outplay Murray (or someone else if GA falters) by putting up big numbers.

All of this hinges on the Defense starting to play much better.

Then, after all of that, he must hope that one of the 5 or 6 guys currently ahead of him falter in some way.

I think the better question is has he started to play himself into the #1 pick in the draft? Heisman trophy's are great, but a $25M NFL contract is much more useful. Perform like I lay out above and Mettenberger will have earned his grandchildren a cush life.
