I hope lil dean is on par with his big bro.
Does he see significant playing time this coming season?

Are there any fall Exhibition games or scrimmages with other schools?

FRESHMAN SEASON (2007)
LSU's leading hitter, batting .316 (65-for-206) with 12 doubles, three triples, seven homers, 46 RBI and 30 runs ... hit .303 (20-for-66) with runners in scoring position ... started in all 56 of LSU's games
2007 Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American
2007 Freshman All-SEC
2007 Louisiana Freshman of the Year
yeah that would be nice

I'm wondering if Laird and McMullen swap spots in the order

I think Laird will be the key to this season. He has MLB tools.
I mean that's just not true. Speed may be the only MLB tool he possesses.

I wish they would scrimmage southern or southeastern or someone.
Some schools do have some fall scrimmages, but they count against the 56 game total you play in the spring.

I wish there was some way to start using the low seam ball sooner.

If they vote for it in November, I don't see any reason why they couldn't.

Thanks to the CWS, the argument has finally picked up some steam. It should get done for 2015, but unfortunately, 2014 is not in the cards.

I wish one of these new guys we recruited that mash could play catcher. We already have what appears to be a potent defensive as well as offensive outfield. But Barash doesn't do it for me (sorry HCB). Not giving up on Chinea. The guy swings the bat as hard as anyone on the team.
Anyone hear anything about Bregs potentially playing catcher? I am aware of his fielding struggles at SS last year, but I don't think I'm in favor of him playing behind the plate.

Early signs show Dean at first with a possibility of Moore moving back the catcher. I think it might be an early solution because you at least have a veteran back there while trying to work out who wins the job outright.
Bregs was an overaggressive freshman at SS. Nola spoiled us.

If there is one thing we know for sure, it's that the bat does not affect the catcher position. The best backstop will/should win the catching position, and that will work itself out in practice from now to feb 13th.
