stevenson hitting .300 would be huge for us, add 2 newcomers hitting well and we're back in Geauxmaha.

I wish they would scrimmage southern or southeastern or someone.

good hitting = bad pitching
good pitching = bad hitting

defense is the only thing neutral in a team scrimmage

More Baseball News. I considered starting a new thread but one baseball thread during football season is already pushing it.

Anyway, tPOS Aaron Fitt wrote an article about the testing they've done on flat seam baseballs vs. raised seam balls. LINK /

looks like just another note saying the same thing we have known for a while. Just waiting on the vote now. The 2015 ball change is imminent.

quote:

“If the majority of you would like to do so, I will ask the NCAA Rules Committee and the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee to look into adopting the pro ball in the future,” he wrote.

And if the majority of coaches support the flat-seam ball, the Division I Baseball Committee is likely to approve that change for 2015. Expect a strong majority of coaches to vote in favor of the flat seams—and that will be a great thing for college baseball. Graham is right: Balance must be restored. It looks like it will be very soon.

Good deal. I hadn't seen it and was a little surprised at the dramatic difference. Something like 20 feet on a ball hit 360-ish.

That's a max. Average probably around 10-12. But that would have added about 7-9 HRs to the CWS.

I think Laird will be the key to this season. He has MLB tools. He hits in the 330+ range in the 2 hole and it could be another huge year - if the pitching holds up.
