The show has nothing on Arrow. That's for damn sure.

I like Arrow and just finished season 1 but the characters on SHIELD are nowhere near as emo and depressing as Ollie.
IMO SHIELD is the more "fun" show if that makes sense.
I'm very interested to see how the upcoming episode ties in with the new Thor movie.

It does. I think Arrow is still a pretty fun show, but SHIELD has a lighter feeling to it, even with the dark tones of the last two episodes.
As someone else said, I thought last night's episode was the best so far. And we're almost to the point where the production catches up with the airings, so criticism from the first couple episodes will be worked out soon, if it hasn't been already. They're running out of shows that were produced before the first one aired.

I didn't know it was supposed to. I saw the scenes from the next episode, but I didn't feel like there was any sort of tie in. I'll probably go see Thor on Sunday morning though, so I'll be able to tell if there is next week.

Thor is mostly set in Asgard so I doubt there's any tie in. Wouldn't be surprised to see something with Captain America next year though.

They've already announced that they will tie together somehow.
I made a mistake though, its not next week's episode. It's the one that airs November 19.
quote:
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- An upcoming episode of the U.S. drama series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will feature a "Thor: The Dark World" tie-in, Marvel announced.
The episode will air on ABC Nov. 19, about two weeks after the film is released, The Hollywood Reporter said.
"In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's 'Thor: The Dark World,' Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces -- one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team," Marvel said, describing the episode, titled "The Well."
Jonathan Frakes, a former "Star Trek" actor and director of "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Burn Notice," will direct the episode.

Bump for last night's episode. I thought it had a pretty serious tone to it, with the suicide mission and Fitz stepping up plus Simmons shooting the guy
I'm really looking forward to next week's episode to see how they clean up the mess from TDW.

IMO, this show has gotten better week to week. I went from "I'll watch when I have time" to "I need to watch tonight".

That's not the Jasper Sitwell I remember from the early days of SHIELD...Young guy , blonde hair,
flowery speech ..... "Don't yield..back Shield"
Who later became the bad guy in a story arc.
Hmmmmm

to be fair, Arrow was a little rough and choppy in the early episodes too.

Hmm. First episode I catch of this show and no updates of the thread on it since last week. That's not a good sign.

Actually the last three have been far and away the best three.
SPOILERS
How about the implication that May and Ward knocked boots?

I watch it on demand usually a few days after it airs. I like it

Of course the it is setting up the obvious jealousy angle for Sky.
BTW, May is pretty good looking and all, but if I were him I'd have been knocking boots with Sky. It was obvious she wanted him. I think he chose poorly.

It's hard to believe that the actress is 50 years old when she could pass for mid-late 30s

Ward wants an experienced woman who keeps her shite together and doesn't cause bullshite drama that distracts him from his job.
Sky might be fun for a romp but she's the kind of chick that causes you get into a fight to defend her honor over shite she started with a random drunken a-hole at a bar.
May is the kind of woman that would lure the offending d-bag outside, smash his head with a bottle, and be back by your side paying the check before you even knew she had a problem with somebody in the bar.
If you just have to sleep with somebody you work with you should always go for the no drama, independent, business comes first woman over the potential stage 5 clinger.

Dang, that's a pretty well though out argument for May over Sky. I guess I'll yield to you on that one.

I agree. Sky and Ward can still die in a fire but Fitz and Simmons have grown on me and I've liked May and Coulson since go.
The show is getting better as it goes but one thing that irks me is Skye's role on the show and how she's written. She might as well wear a shirt that says "I'm the HEART of the team" with the way they constantly throw it in your face.
The show needs to get a little edgier/darker.

Do I need to watch the new Thor before I watch the last episode?
