-he was already suspended for 3 months
-i got in fights in college, never arrested. dont think it is THAT big of a deal.
-"the story has gotten too big". wtf does that have to do with anything? If that was your kid, do you want him/her punished according to "the story"? or according to the law/facts?
people need to get over themselves.

Why would anyone? Miles knows more about the situation and its players than any of us. Its not like anyone here has enough info to be judge in this situation, so to make this thread shows ignorance to begin with. Dumb, dumb, dumb... think before you type.

I think Miles will still be disciplining Hill accordingly, I just wish from a PR stand point there would have been a little more said up front.
Why? To pacify you? frick OFF!!!

That would have been a chickenshit, self serving move. Just like Meyer suspending the guy at osu just to rehab his own image.

Seriously dude,Miles has kicked two players off the team that dramatically effected our seasons, so no I respect the shite out of Miles

It's kind of embarassing to see a player getting into altercations like that
What I find hilarious is the naivety that people have about this shite. Do you know how much trouble players got into when Saban was here? Problem is, he ran shite like with an iron fist. Players got popped for DUI, they just called Saban no jail. Players got into shite like this, they just called Saban.
The fact that you actually HEAR about it should make people respect Miles more than anything. Though its more a product of the society today vs 10-12 years ago. Everyone has a video camera and twitter. Info is a lot harder to contain today.

PR doesn't matter, this story isn't as big as you're making it out to be. It will be all but forgotten come Labor Day weekend.

If Hill walks the straight and narrow from now on does Miles get credit correcting the mistakes Hill made?

When has Miles formally announced suspensions? In the 9 years that he has been here? He has announced dismissals, but not suspensions. Hell, 4 guys were suspended for 1 game in 2011, and he didn't even say that they were suspended. Even after the game, he said that they were withheld from play. This is the way he has always done things. I'm glad that he didn't change his own personal status quo. Hill will be disciplined and that is all we need to know.

I wonder how many kids Miles has disciplined 'under the radar' and given 2nd and 3rd chances, teaching them that their actions have consquences...resulting in a long term change in behavior and growth in maturity, and ultimately turning a TPOS into a decent kid, if not a role model?
I betcha it far outnumbers the ones that everyone thinks get away with murder. But we'll never hear about those kids. If Miles is anything, I think he excels as a father figure.
There is no way Jeremy Hill won't be looking at the ground every time he passes Les Miles in the forseeable future. He KNOWS he effed up. He's got one final chance to show that he is not so ignorant as to follow in the footsteps of TM7 and Ryan Perriloux.

None what-so-ever. Big time programs all over the country work their way around these things. Players may miss "meaningless' games or none at all ... BUT , when it comes to LSU , well, the Tigers have to "set examples" , kick top guys off the team ( which we HAVE done RP , TM7, etc .. ) Every program wants (needs) to win. There is a lot more at stake than just the player's discipline or "non-discipline" as outsiders see it. A lot of other things are "invested" in the success of a team , including other players success, the team as a whole, the community economy, etc etc etc ...this does not rise any where near the Penn State thing ... so I say , give it a rest and respect what CLM does to handle it ... Let's look at Miles' entire record on discipline.
- 2007, Starting DT suspended for entire regular season
- 2008, Starting QB dismissed
- 2011, Starting QB suspended for half a season. Starting RB, and 2 CB's suspended for a game.
- 2012, Heisman Finalist dismissed
Let's not pretend that Miles is all of a sudden soft on discipline. If so, why do you think that is? Is Jeremy Hill so much more valuable than players like Perriloux or Mathieu? No.

No respect lost. He has handled this perfectly.

I believe it was said that he was reinstated to practice with the team until Miles decides what suspension(doing the season probably) he will administer. Why people jump to conclusions like this I don't know. Miles owes nothing to these a-hole sportswriters and opposing coaches who wanna see the hammer fall quickly for their benefits. If it were an athlete for a team they represented they wouldn't be sayin jack shite.

imagine if they had camera phones and twitter back in the 60's and 70's. players were known to start brawls and clear out entire bars. never heard a word about it though
