Worth a listen. I go to sleep listening to scary shite sometimes. This guy has a ton of great stories if you like audio format.

My ex gf's sister needed a ride to Panama City, Fl. She lived about 20-25 miles away in Fountain, Fl and was walking down the road to find a ride. A guy drove up in a white Chevy pickup and gave her a lift. Guy gives her a ride to PC and lets her out.

Turns out he had just killed the owner of the truck and stole it right before he picked her up.

Here's a dream that still keeps me up at night.

I was walking in a strange looking place.A flying entity attacked me from the sky.It was hitting me with something like a jellyfish tentacle.Stinging me all over.

I couldn't get away.I couldn't take the stings anymore.I looked down and saw a gun.I did the unthinkable.I picked up the gun and shot my head.

Everything went black.

Then I started feeling a dull headache.I opened my eyes. There was a bloody towel wrapped around my head.I had a tremendous headache.

I looked up.There was the demon. It said,"You're not getting out of here that easy".

I woke up.

On this very night, ten years ago, along this same stretch of road in a dense fog just like this, I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound...like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building. And when they finally pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning wreck,

it

looked

like

THIS!

Yes, Sir! The worst accident I ever seen.

the demon

I recently saw a true-crime documentary on HBO Max called "Alabama Snake" about a backwoods Pentecostal preacher who allegedly tried to kill his wife with a rattlesnake.

It has sort of a True Detective vibe to it, and there's a running thread about demon possession throughout.

At one point reference is made to Mark 16:17, "In my name they shall cast out devils," and in an interview, the preacher proceeds to explain, "When a demon starts coming out of them, it tears them. One time we was casting out a devil out of one and it come out like a water-dog. It was long and sort of brown-black. And slimy. It hit the floor and went over into a crack in the corner."

Their son adds, "I saw demons cast out. I saw my daddy do it. I saw him cast one out of a guy one night at church. There was somethin' come out of him and just run right across the floor. And it was runnin' around everywhere trying to get back in somebody else. And they just kept prayin'. It was almost like a fog-like - you can't explain it."

The cinematography and the heaviness of these interviews almost ends up turning this thing into a real-life horror film, with demons and snake-handling and attempted murder.

Creepy. As. shite.

Holy crap this is an incredible thread. I only have one story to add and it comes nowhere close to some of these.

When I was 9, I shared a room with my 5 year-old sister. We were in twin beds about 10 feet apart. One night, I was awakened by very bright lights from the foot of my bed. There appeared to be 3-4 of them, much larger than flashlights and rotating in circular motions shining right in my eyes. For some reason, I didn't get scared or panic but just laid there watching these lights calmly. I cannot explain the calmness but it was weird. After a bit, I hear my sister calling for my Dad. She was not crying or upset sounding, just matter-of-factly (for a 5 yr old) calling my Dad's name. Dad comes to our room and she says something to the effect of "Daddy who is shining those bright lights in his eyes? They are so bright." Dad did not see any lights, but flipped on the overhead light to check it out. He saw nothing, but the bright lights never left my eyes and my sister could see them, begging my Dad to find them. He finally told us to go to sleep that we must be dreaming. Those lights continued to shine for some period after Dad walked out. I still remember vividly how bright they were yet how calming the whole thing was to me. To this day, 40+ years later, my sister and I continue to talk about what we saw.

Okay, sorry for the bump but I've been re-reading this thread and decided to compile all of the links into one(or several posts) since a recurring theme seems to be people asking for links. There are also some great stories posted in text form, so the thread is still worth reading start to finish, but really I just figured it would be helpful to have all of the links together in one place. This should be updated as of this current post, and if I fricked up and any of the links are bad let me know and I will fix them.

Also, I took the liberty of adding some links for informational purposes (i.e. Wikipedia pages) for some of them, or finding revised links for broken ones posted years ago.

*If Fusaichi wants to revise the first page/OP with links, that'll work too.

I saw that “Alabama Snake” show...creepy as hell...

Anyway, after reading this thread for years, I’ll share my own story...about 10 years ago, my wife and I were living in the North Georgia Mtn town of Helen. We lived in a community in the Nacoochee Valley called Sautee. None of you have ever heard of it, but it is paradise.

Camping is a big deal up there, so one weekend we decided to go with another couple. We were having a great time until the second night. It was on a Saturday night in mid October, 2011...for some reason my wife and I couldn’t sleep so we got out of our little tent and stoked up the fire again until it was burning brightly.

I’m guessing it was around 2 in the morning when I saw him. At the furthermost edges of the light from the fire, I saw the huge shadowy figure of a man. He had to be at least 7 ft tall...he was standing probably 30 ft from the fire and he was slumped slightly toward his left shoulder. I could not see his face. Only shadow. I had never known true fear, but at that moment, the darkest fear imaginable literally consumed me. We were way up the mountain, away from everything and everybody, or so we thought.

I couldn’t speak, scream, yell...nothing. My wife was sitting to my left side as I stared at the figure in the darkness. Finally, she noticed my gaze and turned to look as well...what followed was the most piercing scream in the worlds history. The giant man neither advanced nor retreated. He just stood there with that odd favor to his left shoulder. Obviously when my wife screamed our friends came scrambling out of their tent. I feebly pointed toward the dark figure. Still the man remained.

We all stared, in stunned silence for what seemed like an eternity, until I weakly croaked out something like “who are you”? At that point the huge man begin to slump over, forward, but never moving his head. My god it was weird. One of our friends tossed something onto the fire to brighten up the area and the man finally turned and, still bent over, slowly disappeared into the hills...

It was awhile before any of us spoke. We all stayed awake the rest of the night and, at first light, packed up and made the short hike to our truck and quietly drove home...none of us told anyone what happened for a long, long time...to this day, we have no idea what that giant, strange man was doing on the mountain that night...all I know is, I hope I never see him again.

The trench smelled very strongly of gas. There was an explosion and flames shot through the place. Some of the guys were moaning. I realized this was it - either I had to break for it or die. Luckily I was in the trench that was closest to the fence. So I jumped up and dove through the barbed wire. I fell over the cliff and somehow grabbed on to a small tree, which broke my fall and kept me from getting injured. There were Japanese soldiers posted down on the beach. I buried myself in a pile of garbage and coconut husks. I kept working my way under until I got fairly well covered up. Lying there, I could feel the little worms and bugs eating holes in the rubbish, and then I felt them eating holes into the skin of my back.
