While taking my due diligence in the bathroom earlier with my Phil Steele preview, I came up with an idea for a post. I don't hold grudges on most recruits that head elsewhere and are still interested to see what they do at the next level.

This is not an attempt at a "Man we are dumb for not offering him" or "Man we are lucky to not offer him" thread, even though I have a feeling that will happen somewhat in here. It's more to just pay note to some of the former LSU recruits that are elsewhere. If you want, I can try to update their stats as this upcoming season goes on

I know I probably missed a few recruits as the information in his preview is so packed in I might have breezed over a name or two. You can include them and I'll be sure to add them. Also, the players that I have included can be found in the depth charts Phil has listed, which are stock full of players. So I might have missed some recruits that just didn't make his depth chart

One note: I know I missed a lot of the SEC recruits (such as the many that are at Alabama, A&M, Auburn, etc.) because they will be much easier to follow as the season starts up. If you really want, I can include some that you guys want listed. Also, I included barely any of the '13 recruits because they are still fresh on our minds and don't need much recognition right now

I hope this is appreciated as much as I think it may, but here it goes:

Adam Taylor (Fr.), RB, Nebraska: The questionable RB/Non RB take from last year is 5th RB listed. While they retain Ameer Abdullah from last year and the running threat of Taylor Martinez, they still use a number of RBs which could find Taylor some PT.

Adolphus Washington (So.), DE, Ohio State/ Dwayne Stanford (So.), WR, Oregon: The duo from Taft High in Ohio were an attempt by Miles to dig into Ohio once again, but Washington stayed home and Stanford went to the speed offense of Oregon. Washington is slated to start at DE where he had 3 sacks last year in spot duty. Stanford will be Oregon's third receiver and only had 11 receptions last year

Alonzo Moore (rFr.), WR, Nebraska: One of the late question marks of "Will LSU take him?" of the 2012 class. We passed and he went to Nebraska, where he red-shirted last year and is a backup WR this year with a shot at some PT.

Barry Sanders (rFr.), RB, Stanford: In my first installment of "Damn I feel old now", the son of Barry Sanders is listed as the 3rd RB, but with the departure of Stepfan Taylor, he has a chance to start.

Cardale Jones (rFr.), QB, Ohio State: We always have that QB recruit that splits this board, Cardale was one of those but Miles couldn't take him out of Ohio. Will be the 3rd QB, but could be handed the reigns next year. He has provided us humor already with his wonderful Tweet about athletes and class that garnered him a suspension in his redshirt year (don't know how that works).

Cassius Marsh (Sr.), DE, UCLA: Was committed to LSU for some time before the thought of leaving home got to him and he stayed home. He will start at DE for UCLA, where he has created havoc for the Pac-12 with 8 sacks last year.

Chase Rettig (Sr.), QB, Boston College: The brother of Hayden will be in his final year at Boston College, where he will have his 5th OC in 25 months. That must be fun for a QB. 3,065 yards, 17 TDs, 13 INTs last year.

Chris Davenport (Sr.), DT, Tulane: After never living up to his star rating and expectations here at LSU he will get one final chance to show his ability at DT at Tulane, where he is penned to start on the d-line.

Chucky Hunter (Jr.), DT, TCU: LSU fans will get to see the West Monroe product who went on to TCU after not getting an LSU offer. Hunter is listed as the start at DT, where he had 36 tackles and 3.5 sacks last year. You can pull for him after the first week of the year.

Curtis Riser (rFr.), RG, Texas: Some say that LSU was in good shape to get him and was supposed to visit LSU during a JR. Day in February. A rare snowstorm in Dallas cancelled those plans, he visited Texas the next week and we lost our ground on him. He is listed as the backup RG behind senior Mason Walters.

Dak Prescott (So.), QB, Mississippi State: Another one of those "Should we offer?" late recruits. If I recall, we did offer but it was too late and his connection with Dan Mullen was too much to overcome. He is slated as the backup behind Tyler Russel and serve as their running QB after rushing for 4 TDs (same number as passing TDs).

Daniel Sams (So.), QB, Kansas State: Sams never was really considered as an LSU offer but was well-recognized in the Louisiana circles. He is listed as the backup QB and should be used as their running QB after running for 3 TDs last year.

Darion Monroe (So.), FS, Tulane: Monroe became the marquee recruit for first-year coach Curtis Johnson and did not disappoint after leading the team in tackles with 97 and had 1 INT. Will start at FS again and should be a key contributor for the team.

Deion Sanders (Fr.), WR, SMU: In the second installment of "Damn I feel old now" Primetime's kid is listed as a backup WR at SMU.

Denzel Perryman (Jr.), LB, Miami: A LBer that I really enjoyed watching as a high school prospect but LSU was just unable to take him from home. Perryman is listed as the starting WLB again, where he notched 64 tackles and 1 INT last year.

Deon Bush, (So.), S, Miami: Another Florida recruit LSU could just not take from the allure of Miami. Bush is listed as a starter at safety, where he had 34 tackles and 3 PBUs in spot duty last year.

Derek Carr, (Sr.), QB, Fresno State: Yes it is the brother of #1 overall bust David Carr. He's beginning to garner some serious hype after 4,104 yards and 37 TDs last year.

Dexter Blackmon, (Sr.), DT, Arkansas State: Yes, I think they have cameras at Arkansas State. After missing out at LSU, Blackmon bounced around before ending up at ASU, where he is listed as a starter at DT and had 17 tackles with 1 INT last year.

Dominique Wheeler, (rFr.), WR, Texas Tech: A kid with an impressive high school film and was recruited by LSU before interest waned and he went to Texas Tech with his entertaining family. Listed as a backup WR, but with that offense, he will likely see significant PT.

D'Vario Montgomery, (So.), WR, USF: A guy that was liked by many on this board but was lower down on the board before winding up at South Florida. Listed as a starter at WR and only had 6 receptions for 65 yards last year.

Eli Rogers, (Jr.), WR, Louisville: Everyone knows Teddy Bridgewater by now, but the linchpin that sent him to Louisville was his high school teammate Rogers. Eli is listed as a starter after having 46 receptions for 505 yards and 4 TDs last year.

Elijah McGuire, (Fr.), RB, ULL: An entertaining recruit to watch had his age become a hindrance and led him to ULL, where he will be competing for playing time at RB.

Gionni Paul, (So.), LB, Undecided: Paul was another LBer that impressed me like former Miami mate Perryman. For whatever reason, Paul decided to leave Miami despite having 61 tackles and would have likely been their SLB starter.

Houston Bates, (Jr.), DE, Illinois: A numbers casualty for LSU in the 2010 class(the same that caught Elliot Porter), Bates moved on to Illinois, where he is listed as a starter at DE despite only having 18 tackles last year in spot duty.

Jameill Showers, (Jr.), QB, UTEP: I might be showing some alum bias here, but I get to for doing all of this. Showers was the next in line to take over at QB for Texas A&M until a redshirt freshman took the reigns from him on his way to a Heisman. Showers is a talented QB and will get

Awesome job and I Ra'd

Les has kinda cooled on the whole Ohio concept. And that is very interesting about the WM D-Line now at TCU.

Yeah, Teddy Bridgewater might be our biggest "almost".

Most talented producer of them all, and would have solidified our greatest position of need for 3 years.

I think it showed Les' smarts. When Hoke went to Michigan while Ohio State toiled around in sanctions, Les saw that was a blow to his chances at Ohio recruiting. Then sCUM took the job at Ohio State and you might as well close the door on any Ohio recruiting.

That is very true and even back then I was saying offering Eli would be worth it for Teddy.

Without turning this into a Brandon Harris recruiting thread or a current recruiting thread, the one thing I will say though is with how much I loved Bridgewater in high school, Brandon Harris' HIGHLIGHTS look a lot like Bridgewater's did. He obviously isn't at that talent level, but I think Harris has the ceiling of a Bridgewater and maybe a little higher the more he works on his mechanics and develops. He and Bridgewater share their same drive and determination as well

That was my first impression as well.

My only hesitation was Brandon's height. On hudl, I saw them list him as 6-1 on one reel (I don't know how old that measurement was) which would probably make him more Tyrod Taylor than Bridgewater in pro scouts' eyes.

However, on 247, they list Brandon at 6-2.5 which is closer to 247's 6-3 ht of Bridgewater out of high school. (But then you never know how accurate those #'s are until the NFL combine.)

So I'm hoping for the latter, and have a good vibe with Coach Cam's glowing endorsement.
