The know-it-all and complainer are by far the two worst.

The last one bothers me the most because the know it alls are almost always people who suck. Hit a few balls straight first and then maybe you can give me some tips buddy.

speaking of 4 playing partners, i have an etiquette question for you.

me and my brother were playing a round the other day, and there was a foursome ahead of us. we were on their asses by 4. we hit right after they would leave their spot. they didn't let us pass, with nobody 4 holes ahead of them. there was a pretty solid build up behind us because of them playing slow as frick.

my brother hit on them on around 13. they saw it and gave us a look but did nothing. this was at Lakewood. at what point should you call the course during the round or just go up to them and tell them to let us play through?

After a few holes. Why wait until 13?

Someone with balls would've given a loud whistle on 6 and they'd be forced to either let you play through or stand their ground. At that point you just tee off whenever you're ready, or just skip the hole they're on and come back and play it at the end.

First off let me preface this by saying: Every group has the right to the course, regardless of how slow or fast they are playing...

...Because you are playing as a two-some, you were probably playing ahead of pace, which is not the same as they are playing behind pace. If you think about it next time, just jump a few holes and finish the round on the few you jumped (most courses won't have a problem with it). If you get the course involved it will probably be a few holes before anything is accomplished because they will have to do their due diligence on whether the group is playing slow or you are just playing fast.

it just kinda go to the point where after a few holes of not doing anything we figured they were just going to let us play through at the turn. then that didn't happen. so finally on 13 my brother got fed up and hit at them. i've never seen him strike a ball so long and straight in his life

A lot of times all 4 of those are rolled into one golfer.

there should be a fifth..."gear guy"

likes to tell you about all his high end clubs, shoes, pants, shirt, glove, hats and how much they cost and all the worthless shite they do. Oh and still shoots 100+

a person i play with is constantly doing this. I beat his arse with my 10+ year old clubs

I'm a mix of Ben Crane and Tiger unfortunately. Probably more Ben Crane.

I'd catergorize myself as a Tommy Boy golfer.....overweight, insecure in my game, and berating myself for every little mistake.

The Frat Boy
Defining characteristics: Unable to fathom a round of golf without a steady stream of adult beverages. Idea of restraint is to hold off drinking ... until the second hole. Favorite expression: "A few beers will loosen up that swing!"

One guy I play with regularly lets his driver go on his follow through after a bad drive (ala Tiger) probably four-to-five times a round.

Really annoys one of my buddies.
