I used to be the butch harmon until I realized I suck too. It is so much nicer now not being that person. I got it from my dad and he still does it. I've tuned it out for years and am embarrassed when I think about how I was annoying my playing partners years ago.

The Young Father
Hardly plays anymore due to family obligations and resents those that play and talk about it all the time.

I see "hits on cart girl" guy pretty much every weekend.

You could add "clubhouse bartender" to the list, same situation

I've never understood why amateurs (or even professionals for that matter) take so long on the golf course. It literally takes me about 10-15 seconds to hit when it is my turn, and that includes club selection/teeing the ball up.

It really isn't hard to play quickly, and it makes the entire round more enjoyable for your playing partners. There is nothing worse to me than playing 5 and a half hour round when I know that me and a couple of my buddies can play a round in 3 hours or less.

my least favorite is the "Ben Crane". Especially when they take too long and then hit it badly.

No doubt. I can deal with the know it all because I can just tune it out. I can even somewhat deal with a good player who is slow because at least he's getting something out of his slowness. It's the hacker who takes 4 practice swings then perfectly aligning his feet, and then waggles 8 times before worm burning one down the fairway that bothers the hell out of me.

IMO y'all were two people behind a foursome. They have the right to the course, but i firmly believe in letting people play through. i would have done the same thing....

in fact when i played last friday we were a twosome behind a threesome. they were playing terribly slow. there was one rather short par 4, about 320 yards or so. i don't normally hit it that far, but with a good wind i could push it there, and as we all know the wind has been howling lately.
they were on the green and i planted one in the front bunker. one guy gave us a nice 45 second stare when it happened, then got a stare while walking to their cart, then some more stare while they were on the next tee box.
at first we discussed going apologize as i did not think i'd get it there (however i knew i could tap my inner ryno). but then we saw that they had someone hitting multiple shots off the tee and in the fairway, so i didn't feel as bad.

in closing, people need to get out of the way if they are slow or they're less people behind them. i always let people through because i hate someone riding our tail.

eta: i typically Sergio if someone ahead is going to slow or if someone is on our arse. but don't sergio if it's slow simply because the course is packed.

i definitely have my Sergio and Tiger moments.

But i don't offer advise unless it's requested or someone is so blatantly doing something that it's necessary and i absolutely don't play slow. grip it and rip it.
