I have been a Heat fan through thick and thin. People forget all the Heat game threads I use to start during their 1st round exits.

I would bet most of the butthurt people in this thread are LeBron haters and are upset with his success. They won't admit it but it seems likely.

And the Bulls fans who became fans during Jordan's era?
This is wwway too rational of a post for them to comprehend.

First off, if you've been a lebron fan since he came into the league you've definitely dealt with some bad seasons. Being a lebron fan in 2010 was a pretty thinly populated bandwagon.
Second of all alot of people on this boards "hometown" team is the pelicans, who I love, but they got to Nola right around the same time lebron got into the league, and if you were young back then, like I was, lebron got a lot more pub and was alot easier to follow than the hornets.
Plus the pelicans are nowhere near contention and it's nice to have a secondary rooting interest come playoff time

I still don't get why people get so bent out of shape over bandwagoners. I'm from los Angeles so I'm a laker fan but I couldn't give 2 shits the reason why you like another team
some people just need a reason to be angry

That's what I'm thinking

That makes them Jordan fans or front runners. Not legit Bulls fans. If they were a legit Bulls fan (like the Heat) then they would be fans of the team before and after Jordan/LeBron left.
That doesn't make them bad fans. It just means they are not legit fans of the team.

Can you respond to my last post?
I signed all the bandwagon paperwork, I thought that was enough for "real fans"
TIA

I already admitted I like LeBron. I cheered for Cleveland in the playoff whenever my Grizzlies would either get swept or miss them entirely. Probably were my favorite team in the East at the time.
I have friends who are Heat fans, but they are from Miami.
I'm just not a fan of people who's favorite team is based on who their favorite player is at the time.

I like watching Lebron play because he is the most exciting and most polarizing player in the league.

You understand a lot of them are now Bulls fans? And that they weren't fans of the Bulls before Jordan, but they were when he played and are still Bulls fans?

I'm out. Y'all take it easy while I'm out being a fan of the Miami Heat. See yall tomorrow night for game 3.

Did I need to be a Charlotte Hornet fan to now be a fan of the Pelicans? Or am I exempt because I live in the general area?
Let me know, thx

Hopefully we will have a Grizzlies Heat matchup in the Finals.

Unfortunately, yes. Seeing as how I cheered for the Rockets and Bulls growing up, I have no choice but to cheer for one of them. Nevermind that I'm from Baton Rouge and have family from New Orleans. If I cheer for the Pelicans I'm just a no-good, poopy-pants bandwagoner.

A lot of people base their favorite player off their favorite team.
I see nothing wrong with basing your favorite team off your favorite player.
I dont see whats wrong with some people being fans of teams and others being fans of individuals. The NBA is 100000X easier to root for individual players over teams than any other sport.

I was a Shaq fan for years. Wherever he went, they were my team.
While he was in Miami, I became somewhat of a D-Wade fan.
I pull for them now, because they are so unfairly reviled. LeBron haters have almost nudged me into becoming a King James fan.
