Are you from Florida or did you grow up liking the Heat? It's not like they are the Lakers or Celtics who have a historic franchise with lots of titles. I am from Memphis so of course I root for the Grizzlies. Even when the years when we would only win 20 games I still went to games and loved the team.

Since this is a board where a lot of people are from Louisiana why have you abandoned your state team to root for the flavor of the week? My little brother loves the Grizz, but his "second team" is the Heat, but he is also 15 years old and kids love the team that is the best.

I've been a heat fan since the days of PJ brown, mourning, and hardaway.

Heat and Knicks really got after each other.

I'm okay with anyone cheering for the Heat as long as they cheer for the Dolphins and Marlins. I just can't stand where people are 49ers fans, Braves fans, and Celtics fans

I've liked them since Alonzo Mourning and Shaq a few years ago--not die hard, but interested. I was a Cleveland fan with LBJ and now more of a Heat fan with him on board. I despise the city of Miami and their fans, but enjoy the players and coaches.

Eta: I'll be a fan of wherever LeBron goes next.

Eta2: I couldn't care less about the Hornets/Pelicans and probably never will.

When I was little, I based my favorite teams off of their logo

I'm a hornets fan and don't have a true rooting interest for any other teams. There are some teams I hate and some I enjoy watching. The Heat are easily one of the most enjoyable teams to watch so I like them in that regard.

Huge Heat Fan.

I liked them since a couple years ago when LeBron and Bosh came over. Before those two acquisitions we struggled a little bit, but I like the direction the Franchise is going right now.

Before the "Big 3" era I was a Lakers fan.

not a Heat fan, but I'm rooting for them to win the title, so LBJ has another ring, since our sad sports culture only judges players on team accomplishments

My dad is from Wash DC. I have always rooted for the Bullets/Wizards because I grew up with it, however they have sucked forever. I started rooting for the Heat because I thought all of the LBJ bashing was over the top. I hate the Lakers as I can't stand Bryant.

Everyone who likes the Heat now won't know what city the Heat are from when LeBron leaves.

I tend not to care about fan alignment with professional sports.

College sports, on the other hand...

so you just prove my point that most so-called heat fans are really lebron peterpuffers.

follow a team like a real fan and stick with them. then maybe you would garner some respect.

So you actually are just a player's fan then? No loyalty to any team? Strange but ok
