I've been trying to do paleo for the month of may.
I had desert at dinner last night though and some fried stuff at lunch.

I don't have a ladyfriend as of now, but I think it's a common misconception that they HAVE to have a small revolver for home defense.
If she chooses a revolver for simplicity, no problems there. But the main reason women don't "have enough strength" to rack the slide is because they don't do it right. The overhand method of pushing both of your hands together is the correct way to rack the slide, not just pulling it back with the tips of your index finger and thumb.
Besides that, I do agree with most in that a 20 gauge can be handled easily by anyone and packs one hell of a punch.

Smith and Wesson Model 10 (.38 special) with a Crimson Trace laser loaded with self defense rounds. That's the first line of defense when she's in bed and needs to get to something within seconds.

Double barrel shotgun to fire 2 blast into the air per orders from our nations Vice President.
Actually she's got me for her defense and if I'm not home there are a few strategically placed 9mm semi autos. I don't have to have to worry about her racking the slide as they are always ready to work.

Mine has a .357 and a short barrel.12 ga. extended mag tube with No. 5 shot.
A youth .20 ga should be fine.

20 ga here.
she doesnt like to shoot the 12 but is comfortabel with the 20. I added a pistol grip+ stock and she says the recoil is very minimal.

Deserves a separate thread of its own!! I call the second method the hollywood pinch n pulling. Pushing the hands together spits the chambered round in my hand when clearing. Pinching spits it on the ground!

Bought mine a LCP, but she couldn't get used to the horrendous trigger pull, ended up trying out my judge and was able to handle it well

.38 Special revolver in the front of the house and my 9mm SA in the back of the house. Both hidden well but easily accessible for adults, impossible for kids. Where they are kept is very important to me.
