I'm thinking about getting a youth 20 gauge shotgun for my soon to be wife. I want something she won't be afraid to shoot

depends on the room she is in ... for that matter it depends on her mood also..
20 is a good choice but don't be afraid to let her try a 12 with a low brass 2 3/4" bird shot. Women actually shot 12's just fine if they step up to them. There is usually a skeet range around that will let you rent guns.
if getting the 20 get a compact size and consider a collapsible stock. Her first instinct will be to find cover (as it should be). Once behind the couch, edge of the bed, or in the closet, she will need to easily be able to maneuver he gun.
Revolver are also good choices as there is just less to remember. Point and pull trigger. but the lack of safety makes it an issue with kiddos.

Can't go wrong with a Judge with 3" .410 shells.

Can't go wrong with that, mine also has a SRC 9mm.
Just make sure she knows how to handle any gun she'll get

Glock 19.
It's the only thing she knows how to shoot and she never wants to practice with it.
She's scared of guns. I don't know why.

That's way more important than the type of gun. And practice, practice, practice. Using it needs to be second nature.

Buy her a 22 & spend more time trying to get her shooting more. Make a game out of it & let her win

Well if you get her a 20 gauge just make sure you get some short brass to practice with.
Then keep it loaded with buckshot for protection.

glock in the cabinet on top my oven, glock in the drawer by the bed, shotgun in the utility room, and my revolver in my car.

20 gauge would be good.
Some have trouble racking the slide of a semi auto. So stay with a revolver if you want a pistol.
It get a trunk monkey if they have a home edition.
