re: AJ Green and Jalen Ramsey ejected
Posted by ShowMeWhatYouGotRaji on 11/5/17 at 1:42 pm to SirWinston
Ramsey’s ejection is the result of lazy officiating. It’s easier to toss them both then actually do your job as a referee and punish the guilty party. And there were 2 officials right there watching when this went down. Both should be fined/suspended.

Still have my OLT fox/coyote call! Bought 5 of them at Bowie’s when it first opened and gave 4 away as Christmas gifts. One of my buddies still uses the one I gave him

I’ll second the Burris. I love mine. Got it off DVOR.com for a little less than $800 at the time.

One of my dads Army issue olive drab undershirts that he wore in Vietnam...no idea how it has lasted this long. Still wear it for hunting trips.

Played the Country Club at Golden Nugget today. Was impressed with the course, but the greens had been punched a couple weeks ago and they had sod on the collars that was struggling to take root, but everything else was awesome. Very cool layout, very friendly to hacks like me. Wind seems to be the only real defense the course has...

This. Is. Hysterical.
And correct.
I've always been intrigued by both the .375 H&H and the .300 RUM. However, if I had powerball money, I'd likely be calling Mr. Jarrett to get one of his custom built rifles in .300 Jarrett.

I don't know how common they are, but if you can find 130 grain nosler accubonds i would recommend those. My .270 xbolt loves them. Every accubond I have harvested an animal with has hit with the force of a Mack truck. The 140 grain from my 7mm mag would be a force of nature if they weren't man made.
re: Worst umpires in WS games
Posted by ShowMeWhatYouGotRaji on 11/2/16 at 9:45 pm to mizzoubuckeyeiowa
I would say this has been the worst called series of any kind I have ever watched. MLB needs to go to the electronic strike zone starting next year.
Each game has had game changing strikes called balls, and balls called strikes. Only saving grace is that these Yahoos have missed calls for both teams.
As a pitcher or hitter, all you ask for is consistency. Not one of the plate umpires for any of these gameshas been consistent.

Thank you. I knew my "facts" were sketchy at best, hence all the parenthesis and question marks.
I do love the scope though. Looking forward to backing it up a few hundred yards now that I have it zeroed.

I'll chime in. I recently got the 3-15x50 version of the XTR II. Absolutely love it. The glass is very good...but not Swaro good. Put it on top of my AR-10. The thing is built like a tank and equally as heavy.
Adjustments are straightforward, but pay attention to the fact that there are 2 screws to loosen the turrets after zeroing. The FFP feature is my new obsession.
From my understanding, Burris bought Steiner or vice versa, and these scopes are a product of that marriage. Haven't shot in low light yet, but I've scoped out the neighborhood at "questionably legal" shooting times, and it appears to transmit more light than the Leupold VXR (30mm tube)I have and the old Zeiss Conquest (1" tube) I have (believe it was built by Meopta?).

re: 7mm Mag shooter-which round are you using?

Nosler AccuBond 140 grains. Dead nuts zero at 200. Have yet to trail a deer hit properly with these bullets out of this rifle.
re: DPMS AR-10 .308 Does anybody here have one? Are you happy with it?
Posted by ShowMeWhatYouGotRaji on 7/3/16 at 4:41 pm to auggie
DPMS LR-308-B owner here. She's got an 18" heavy barrel with a target recessed crown, no dust cover and no forward assist.
Ditto the poster who mentioned the weight. This thing is a beast to carry around.
Accuracy is very good. No idea on MOA stats, but with Federal premium 168 grain match ammo, mine cloverleafs holes at 100yds when using a lead sled. The rifle shoots better than I can, and I'm looking forward to setting up in a deerstand with her.

No clear winner between the two for low light gathering/transmittal?
Glass recommendations for AR-10
Posted by ShowMeWhatYouGotRaji on 3/11/16 at 9:38 pm
DPMS LR308-B is on its way to my local FFL with my name on it. I need recommendations for optics. I am currently considering Nightforce NXS, Vortex PST first focal plane, IOR-Valdada or Leupold Mark 4. Id like to stick with a 30mm tube.
I would like to have the best low light (dusk/dawn) light gathering possible for at or under $2k.
This will be a hunting rifle for deer, hogs and whatever else needs to die (nutria, coyotes, antelope, etc)
Relatively new to higher end optics, but want this to be the hand me down rifle for my youngest son (grandpa Raji hooked my older 2 sons up already).

re: Talk me out of wanting to buy a jeep

Agreed. I've got an 83 CJ-7. And 3 sons. Already got the wife on board with getting 2 more CJs so each son will have his own.
And working on a jeep is part of the agreement you make when you purchase one. Just because it wasn't in the contract doesn't mean it's not part of the deal.

re: Best 1911 for the $$?

the nightmare carry is a mean arse looking pistol. I currently have the Ruger lightweight commander, and I'm planning on getting the nightmare carry for myself soon(ish)

As a proud owner of a Ruger lightweight commander, I vote for the Ruger as well.
Side note- my wife asked me what the big dea was about the 1911. I told her it's like holding the hand of God: it's big, powerful, and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling deep inside.
