Yesterday when the story broke, CNN reported that the guy fired two shots into the ceiling of the airport with a "military style automatic rifle" and then pulled out a pistol and shot himself.
Reading about it today and it appears that CNN changed their tune a little

Moore spent just over an hour in the departure area before drawing a Glock semi-automatic pistol and firing two shots into the ceiling, Harris said. He was then approached by the Homeland Security officer, who fired on Moore and wounded him in the right shoulder, Harris said.

In addition to the pistol, Moore had an AR-15 rifle in the suitcase he took to the airport Thursday, but he did not take that weapon out, police said.

One bullet down for Homeland security and eleventy billion to go.
They will try to replace that one with 500,000,000,000

This was at Terminal B. Supposedly this was outside the first customer service line when you first check in before security checks.
I flew into Terminal E yesterday right as it happened. It F'd my flight from Houston home to LC all up and didn't get home till much later.

No, he didn't. And the first 8 hours of most breaking news stories tend to look much differently from the final "story".

All media sources should be required to report the following in stories about shootings in similar outline form at the start of the article/story.
Shooter: name, age, citizenship/unknown
Previous criminal record: yes/no/unknown
Gun obtained legally: yes/no/unknown
Gun used: make and model/unknown
Type of gun: rifle/handgun/shotgun/ unknown
Fire selection: single,semiauto,auto/unknown
Shooting prevented/ended by: legally armed citizen, illegally armed citizen, armed LEO, un armed individual/unknown
Then at the back of the paper or web page there should be a section referencing the original article/story with all of that information updated monthly on every shooting reported on until sentencing for surviving known shooters, or for 1 yr for all other shootings. The summary information should include the results of sentencing and a list of the prosecuted laws.
media outlets recurrently presenting incorrect information above a certain threshold should be held financially accountable and their individual accurate reporting rankings should be made public.
The purpose of the media outlets is supposed to be the delivery of raw infromation to the public.
Sadly the information would not support their agenda.
