Not for me. Some of them taste like a mixture of dish water and pine tar.

I'm not sure if I would like an IPA, I enjoy darker beers how does it compare?

Jackamo translates to "pour down drain" in Choctaw Indian.

I love a good IPA and now looking to try some new IPAs Been drinking NB Ranger, Stone IPA, Nola Hop, Reed Hook IPA I tend to drink the same brands over and over without straying. Drinking what I know I guess. I have had other IPAs while out but no clue on what they were. Just asked for an IPA at the bar.
you're doing it right already. Nothing wrong with the ones you listed. I'm not sure what you can and cannot find in Louisiana, but I'd probably drink a lot of Stone IPA and Ruination, and Nola Hopitoulas and Mechahopzilla. From Slidell, I'd probably try to slip over to Mobile occasionally and pick up some Bell's Two Hearted Ale, among others not available in LA.
You can always go online and order some that are otherwise not available in LA as well
To answer your question though, my favorite is Pliny the Elder

There are not many great options for [fresh] IPAs in town.
Some of the best available (when fresh) in the area are
-Saint Arnold Endeavor
-Hopitoulas (on tap)
-Green Flash Palate Wrecker, West Coast IPA, Hop Head Red
-Stone IPA, Ruination, SSR, Special Releases
-Parish Farmhouse IPA
It's not an ipa but Parish's Envie is fantastically hopped
Also, check for bottled on or best by dates. We get some old stuff around here sometimes. A better local option would be nice.

The one I drink the most would be Good People IPA though.

Just focusing on the ones you can get in Louisiana, I'd say Stone Ruination, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye, Saint Arnold Endeavour, Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast and Stone Sublimely Self Righteous are good ones to try.

I just drank a DIPA last night, Cambridge Brewing Company The Audacity of Hops. This is in my top 5 beers now. You have to like a very hoppy beer though. It is a Belgium Style DIPA.

I love Endeavor.
Just tried Hopitoulas and it was really good as well.
I like the Torpedo by Sierra Nevada.
RedHook was on par with Jockamo

Hard to beat Pliny the Elder

New Belgium Ranger and Rampant
Bear Rep Racer 5

I heard Bear Republic pulled from Louisiana, anyone else heard that? I know it has been hard to find the Racer 5 lately.

Is Endeavor a seasonal?
I have only had a couple. Bought from Specs in Dallas last October.
