I was 13 years old and could care less about any sport, much less college football.
I looked up to my older brother & he was excited about watching this freshman Herschel Walker on TV in the Superdome. I saw excellence in sport and was hooked. I asked him who was our team in Louisiana and did we have a Herschel Walker. He told me LSU. I started watching the Dalton-James Gang & have been hooked ever since.
I will say, after all these years of searching for "our Herschel Walker" and thinking for a minute we had it in Cecil Collins, LSU could potentially be getting that in Leonard Fournette (provided he becomes a Tiger).

Third generation LSU student. Both parents went here, two grandparents (one of whom played football here around 1937), great-grandfather was an economics professor and a dean back in the 30s and 40s. I've loved LSU long before I was cognizant.

Birth.. Dad was a '59 alum, and is now a retired Army Colonel... I never saw LSU before the age of 17, but it was always in my heart... I went to HS in Northern Virginia, and my older brother (8 yrs older) went to West Point... I had already had a Senatorial nomination for West Point and my choices were West Point, Virginia Tech, aTm, and LSU... After visiting them all, I chose LSU

Even though I wasn't born into it, my future kids will be. I've even made my family pretty big fans.

65, went to the Tulane game with my Grandad, a 62-0 LSU win. Then we went to the 66 cotton bowl, a game LSU won 14-7, that kept an undeafeated Ark team from winning a NC. That was the game where , if Im correct Stockley was unable to play and Pat Screen QBed. Joe Labruzzo had a great game.I was a fan of Billy Masters (TE)too, who made a big play that game.I was very young so Im hoping I have the facts correct, that's how I remember it. With big Tex at the Texas state fair ,HOWDEY, now that place smelled like corn dogs.

Dec 18, 1990.
Both sides of my family live in Baton Rouge and many of my family members went to LSU, including my Mom. I actually went to LSU for a year before I got homesick and transferred to community college back home. Even though I'm at VCU now, in no way has transferring several times lessened my passion for LSU. I've bleed the P&G since the day I was born. I wear my LSU gear at VCU all the time.
So can you deal with Havoc and Tiger Bait?

Fifth grade (2000), my big LSU fan friend made me a fan and then I was obsessed since then.
Ironically, that friend went to ULL and hates LSU now. Oh well.

Much of my family attended LSU. I think the moment I got truly fell in love with it all was at my first game when the band came out and played... "Daaaaaaa daaaa daaaa daaa!!!!!"

My first LSU games were as an usher from Boy Scout Troop 33 of White Castle. That was in 1947. Graduated in January 1961 after doing a tour of duty in the Navy.

For me it was at the 1968 Sugar Bowl...Mom is from Louisiana, her brother, my dad and I (I was 11) drove from the San Francisco Bay Area to New Orleans for the game...From that game on my life has been God-Family-LSU...Unfortunately I never attended LSU (or any other college), but have attended at least one LSU game 39 of the 44 years since I went to that first game (I have always lived in the SF Bay Area)...
Have passed it on to my children..They have attended Sacramento State, Sonoma State and San Jose State....Games attended by them at those schools=0 Combined games attended by the 3 of them at LSU=11

My first memory was listening to the football games on the radio with John Ferguson calling the games. I was probably about 5 or 6. The I remember goin to the games with my dad and his buddies and hitting about 6 barrooms along the way between Houma and BR. I've been hooked ever since.

My Dad took me and my little brother to see LSU v. Tulane. How long ago? It was in Tulane Stadium and Bert Jones was the QB. Right then and there I was hooked.
