Yeah I don't get it. I went to Doral a few timesffor like 10 bucks which was fun on a Friday afternoon. Under no circumstances would I pay playoff/superbowl type prices to go to a gold tourney. I can think of hundreds of more naturally beautiful places than a man made gold course so I don't get that argument either.

I will say that I enjoyed seeing billy andre have a mental breakdown and break a club and dump his bag over behind the tenth green at the us open in chicago. I was like five feet from him. He two chipped and three putted and dropped like 15 f bombs. My wife was speechless

Seems like you would miss all the good stuff.
I've been to several and they're really fun. That said, I would rather be at home for the final day of a major because you do miss alot of stuff.
On the last day of a major I would basically have to post up at the 18th and wait for the finish IMHO. That would suck because you would watch the same shots all day.
I've been to the Memorial once and the Wachovia/Wells Fargo several times. The best way to enjoy a tourney is to drink some beers with yoru friend and to continually leap frog the group you want to see.
ETA: I've never paid for tickets.

At Augusta half the fun is hearing the roar of the crowd and racing to the leader board to see who's score they update. Not to mention that towards the end of Sunday it is really difficult to not be somewhat involved in the action with only a couple groups still playing.

Because seeing their skill up close is incredible. They play a different game than any amateur. When you are a fan of golf and you see the greatest players in the world up close its awesome.

Tour bunnies are everywhere. As in some major eye candy, especially at the majors. From the ones I've seen, I have no clue why Tiger had to resort to I-Hop waitresses & cocktail girls.

My dad and I had a tradition for about 5 years of going to the Colonial in ft worth and camping out under a shade tree on a par 3. Just spending the day drinking beer and betting on who would hit it closer to the pin. When that got boring you zoomed in tits and arse in the crowd with the cheap binoculars you got for filling out a credit card application. Some of my favorite memories

I love golf but I have zero interest In going to the masters... or even watching a pro tournament for that matter.
Ill watch on tv. But not in person

I went to the players one year. Would much rather watch on person but it was fun to be there for a day. I want at least a practice round ticket to see Augusta in person. Wouldn't want to be there Sunday.

I think the people on the 18th hole at Augusta could give you a good answer right about now.

Seriously? Who doesn't like to be around large crowds of white people??

Its something I enjoy doing with my dad. He's my golfing partner and we really enjoy taking a day to walk the TPC every year during the Zurich and watching the pro's do their thing. There's no way I'd ever go to all 4 days of a tournament though...much better watching on TV. I am glad that we both got a chance to see Augusta this year. Something we've both always wanted to do.

It is different, but fun. At Augusta you don't have cell phones, so it is old school. People listen for roars and watch the manual leaderboard to see what players on other parts of the course are doing.
I wouldn't pay too much to go to a non-major, but the majors are a different deal. Especially the Masters, hence it being one of, if not the hardest ticket in all of sports.

If you have ever played golf you should watch to appreciate in person how much you suck.
Their driver trajectory and distance can only be fully appreciated in person.
